Xofigo is up next

Has anyone here been on Xofigo (radium223) before? I have been on docetaxel and cabazitaxle for most of the year. All they seem to do is keep the cancer in check. PSA has been up and down 7 to 13.

If your mets are limited to your bones, R-223 might be worth doing. A new experimental treatment, Lu-177, the same basic idea only it seems to work much better. Available in Germany and a few other countries but not here except in clinical trials..You might look into having a genetic profile done on your cancer tissue to see if one of the new immunotherapy treatments might work for you..This is a critical time in your journey..As your cancer learns to defeat treatment, it can become more aggressive and your PSA doubling time can become very short

I did Xofigo last year into this year. Do you have questions about it? For lots of people the side effects are limited. It caused nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite for me. I also think I got benefit from it, but I can’t prove that.

My main concern is more neuropathy. Got plenty of that from docetaxel.

same here, couldn't do any docetaxel chemo again, the resulting neuropathy is almost crippling, and it's not going away 2 months after last chemo infusion.

but i think neuropathy is not listed as a Xofigo side effect...(?)

That's not listed as a side effect from Xofigo.

My dad also had major neuropathy issues with docetaxel. After doce he was on Xtandi (Zytiga was ruled out for him) for 4 months and now PSA has doubled from 125 to 256.

He might be put up for Lu-177 now since he is unwilling for Jevtana and has strongly put his foot down for futher chemos. Hoping whatever is the next treatment - works!

I hope it works for you all too.

Good health and healing vibes for you all....

My husband just started Xofigo treatments on Nov. 8th and he has just had some diarrhea and that's it.

I second looking into LU-177 assuming a PSMA scan is positive for the treatment.

Done in Germany and Japan and Australia.. less toxic than R223 and way more effective for some men. Remissions have been possible i was told yesterday.
