Nuisance A/F
Returned to hospital today...Cardiorespiratory-to get my interrogation of DDDR. All working OK... Will not help my SSS. But allows more medication without compromising my Bradycardia. What it did show -was Sleep Apnea. This last week, I had 3 nights of Severe Sleep Disordered Breathing -with RDI

Season's greetings and af update
Afternoon all and a very merry Christmas to you all. I am now just under 2 weeks post ablation and still have significant bruising at my groin but walking fine. All kaleidoscope vision and migraines eased after a few days and the nasty episode of fast af for a whole day has ceased with starting digoxin

Further update day 4
Have spent the whole day in af some it in fast af. Still on going now but has slowed to 100-120 from 160+ but if I leave the sofa it increases and I get chest pain. Phoned specialist nurse as took extra flecainide with no effect. Had to go to go and now starting on digoxin 250mcg twice a day for two

Digoxin as a 'stat' dose
My doctor has prescribed me to take 4x 125 microgram tablets of digoxin as a one off 'stat' dose at the start of an episode to try and bring the rate down. I am on 10mg of bisoprolol daily and am doing well at the moment. I was a little worried when I read one of your posts that said 250 mg was the

Seen the cardiologist today,I'm now on the waiting list for an Ablation in the next few months, but in the meantime the cardio has taken me off Flecanide,he said it ain't working ( I always thought that was the case anyway) and Has suggested Digoxin to work alongside the bisprpol (7.5) I'm taking at the

Something new
Now classified as in permanent AF, blood pressure sitting nicely, 120/72, pulse remaining now under 90, probably averaging 85, with 250mg Digoxin, 12.5mg Bisoprolol, and 300mg Dagibatran, per day. However, today, probably on three occasions now, a very fast vibration coming through my lower breast bone

Night Sweats
Good Morning all. Over the last 3/4 months I have been experiencing night sweats, severe heart thumps, and breathlessness, taking about an hour to get back to sleep. I have persistent AF for over the last 7 years. I take 180mg Slozem; 125 mg Digoxin; and at the moment regular 2mg Warfarin daily. I guess

Atrial Fibrillation since 2002. Seven admissions to hospital since then. Usually resolved with tablets but always returns. Electro cardio conversion in 2006. At present just returned from 4 day stay in hospital. Heart rate is down but out of rythmn. Would my age be against me for ablation purposes?

Here We Go Again
Oh well, it looks like a second shot at a cardio version. The first lasted 18 months and came to an end two weeks ago on holiday on a tiny Greek Island! I felt palpitations following a morning swim, and my pulse had become irregular! I had slipped back into AF. Did I overdo the alcohol? I don't think

Caring for a person with AF
My daughter is 26 and has congenital heart disease, she was admitted to hospital 3 weeks ago and diagnosed with AF. During 26 years of hospital visits this had never been mentioned or picked up before, can it have started all of a sudden. She has been put on warfarin, digoxin and verapamil. I am worried

Hot sweats
I am 68 , female, and was diagnosed with AF 8 years ago. After 3 cardio versions which didn't work I am on digoxin, warfarin and Slozem ( diltiazem) I get very hot, similar to hot flushes mainly in the evening and when I lie down. Do others have this too?

Ablation blog part 5 : moving on up, moving on out, time to break free
Thank you for all your wonderful caring positive comments. Sorry about spelling mistakes . Difficult to see in the dark , strict nurse said lights out at 11 ! Who are we to argue ? Bob , as for sleep , hospitals are full of sick people moaning and groaning ! But apart from that the nurse came round
