Fainting episodes
I am Calli111 and are 72ys old and have AF which did not show itself properly until last year. My heart rate is kept under control with Digoxin and is fairly stable at 80-100bpm. The most horrible thing about this if the exhaustion and weakness I suffer several times a week and the breathlessness on

Aching heart for a week now.
Hi, I'm new to this site so I will give a small insight into my heart condition. I was born with TOF (Tetralogy of Fallots). Unfortunately I was one of the old generation to have this so I've had further complications. I had my original repair in 1982 then in 1992 I had my first pulmonary valve replacement

Heart Failure/Atrial Fibrillation medicine from Foxgloves. Once a mainstay heart drug, but superseded by safer drugs that extend life.
[i]'In the modern era, digoxin was considered, for many years, the mainstay of treatment for people with heart failure. However, this has changed over the last decade as it has been replaced as first-line treatment with other medicines which are generally safer to use and known to improve patient survival

Digoxin? Help please....
HI all.... my Ep prescribed Digoxin when I told him that I could not tolerate bisoprolol which makes me feel really tired and sleepy. He prescribed 250mcg in the first instance, but when I went to my GP.. she said I should start off on 62.5. The instructions inside the box say start off with 250mcg

Can anyone help please?
I have had AF since 1994 following pneumonia. For the last 4ish years I have been on Verapamil; Digoxin and Warfarin which seemed to keep me pretty well balanced, apart from the usual blip occasionally. I also have psoriasis, only on the palms of my hands, and recently agreed to have PUVA treatment.

Mindfulness Course and AF
A few weeks ago SRMGrandma recommended an online course being run by Futurelearn. I have just completed this and wanted to share how I think I have benefitted in relation to my PAF. I suffer from slow PAF, usually under 80 bpm but with strong heart beats, which I get mostly in the evenings. I take

ELA AND PERMANENT AF
The cardiologist believes me to have an enlarge left atrium which appears to be causing the AF. I am a cyclist and walker 72 yoa and feel fit and I no symtoms. Tried the classic beta-blockers and the all make me ill. A week ago I went to A&E with an HR of 166 bpm, up from 120bpm, wihilst taking Metoprolol

Back in nsr
Had 3rd CV yesterday, after failed CV on Xmas Day. Relived to say that now back to 60 BPM. They got me back in on the last of of 5 attempts so just squeezed in. Feel great so will have to really look after myself. 1st CV lasted 2 years, so hopefully fingers crossed for the next 2 years. Stopped Digoxin

Digoxin for AF
I take 125mcg each day in the morning and this has been very successful after being unable to tolerate beta blockers(very breathless) I was one and a half months before I found out that these act better taken on an empty stomach .I also take losartan but as I find difficulty because of the side effects

AF and breathlessness
Hi I am Sylvia and have been diagnosed with persistent AF, I am 71 years old. This leaves me breathless on exertion . I recently saw a EP from Birmingham who wants to have a cardioversion done before considering an ablation. He ask for me to be put on Amiodarone with a view to having this done. I

A bad batch of medication?
I have PAF which is mostly well controlled by medication - Bisoprolol and Digoxin. Occasionally I get episodes of strong and irregular but not fast heartbeats which can be felt anywhere on the body. Some times this is accompanied by a feeling that my blood pressure is high. For a few weeks I was

Vagal AF
I thought I would start a new thread since sometimes I miss info in older threads, and others will do the same, especially if they have not posted anything on the older thread. I saw the following in a 2007 study and found it helpful. If this information is true, it is hard to understand why an EP

Most vagal afibbers receive wrong medication
Bagrat commented on one of my posts I made a year ago and this reminded me of the following study which was done some time ago but may still be relevant. Many new people on the forum may not be aware of the concept presented. Most vagal afibbers receive wrong medication MAASTRICHT, THE NETHERLANDS

I find all the subscribers very interesting but I have difficulty knowing what or who they are talking about, for instance EP? I had to work all these nemonics out! I have had permanent AF for about 7 years, it. Does not bother me much. If I feel odd I use the heart rate app and if my pulse is all over
