FLUTTER ABLATION EXPERIENCE
Had my first ablation last Tuesday, 2 week early due to a cancellation at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by Dr Lang and offer the following from my personal experience. Stoped Bisoprpolol and Digoxin on the Friday as instructed. Think I had some withdrawal symptoms on Saturday and then had brief spell

Switching from Sotalol to Flecainide and Digoxin
The consultant I saw at St Barts said that I should switch from Sotalol to Flecainide (I don’t know what the dose is- the prescription just says “as directed by cardiology”; the tablet strength is 50mg) and digoxin 125mg once a day. I am rather apprehensive about this. This was in response to my saying

Hallo, I am in constant AF and am on a great number of meds to help control it; these include: apixoban, digoxin, atorvastatin, ramipril, verapimil, metformin (diabetes) and levothyroxine (underactive thyroid). I am 76 years old next month and, based on hearsay and advice, decided against cardioversion

Drug interaction
To my huge disappointment I had to go straight to A and E yesterday. I had been to my GP feeling odd,I had had cystitis for 3 days . She was very thorough and did urine , Bp and pulse check. After prescribing an antibiotic , She sent me straight to A and E . There I was prioritised, fantastic service

3 weeks after Cardioversion
I am 3 weeks after cardioversion and still in SR, I am taking Sotolol 80x2 a day, digoxin 0.125 1 x a day and warfarin 5mg once a day. I had an ECG last Monday and today I saw my family doc as she was away , Doc said ECG said in SR ( I know can feel the difference) and ECG sowed a blip of heart damage

Ablation assessment at St Barts
I had my ablation assessment at St Barts and it has been proposed that I have an ablation in around 6 months. The EP I saw was very good and provided lots of information about the procedure and AF generally. There are a couple of points in this post which might be of interest to those with AF generally

Should I go ahead with ablation
I have been having af for about 2 years now with each episode getting wrose than the previous one. I started to get them every three months. I went into hospital last August for 3 days and they put me on to another tablet Digoxin. I was already taking apixaban and sotalol. Since then I have not had any

What a day
I saw my EP this morning and he’s taken me off Amiodarone (yay!). I’m not sure how I’ll go when it eventually gets out of my system. I’m still on Digoxin and Atenolol but even the 3 drugs together weren’t controlling things fully. He was discussing the prospect of another ablation. This will be number

Is Digoxin a high risk drug
Has anyone suffered from Digoxin toxicity, what were your symptoms and how did you recover. I am very slowly recovering from an Atrial Flutter cardioversion 6 week ago. I was then started on Digoxin 1.25 along with Rivaroxipan and reduced Bisopropolol 2.5. Doc thought the flutter was something to do

Scared
Hi can anyone tell me if they are taking Amiodarone for AF. I see the side effects can be catastrophic, also taking verapamil, digoxin, furosemide and rivaroxaban. I am so scared to take the Amiodarone, I have asthma as well, can anyone help?

Afib help
Hi, hopeful that someone can give me a bit of advice. My grandmother was recently diagnosed with atrial fibrillation in November. Since then she has been prescribed bisoprolol beta blocker which started off on a low dose but didn't seem to work so has recently increased to 10 mg per day. she did not

Newbie looking for some reassurance (AF and bloodclot)
Hi all. So pleased to have found this forum and all you wise and generous souls. I have been touched reading the posts here and how supportive you are. Essentially I have a blood clot in my heart which is delaying my cardioversion. It was discovered after a TOC (? Scope in throat) as I missed a dose

Surgery and AFIB
I'm due to have an open mesh hernia repair under general anaesthetic soon. Since organising it with the consultant I have gone back into AFIB. I was 13 months into NSR with ectopics after a previous cardioversion. My cardiologist gave the all clear but wanted me to increase bisoprolol from 2.5mg to 5mg

Debilitating Flutter and Cardioversion
I would really appreciate some advise from anyone who has been through what I am experiencing, I have had MAT for 23 years but have been just diagnosed with Flutter, the problem I have is when I am in flutter I have to stay horizontal, if I try to get up I feel Dizzy and collaps. The Doc put me on Flecainide

My AF journey takes a turn for the worse!
I’ve not posted for a while but lurk quite often and I thought it was about time I contributed to this splendid and supportive forum. Cutting a long story fairly short. Quite a few years ago I was diagnosed with AF after a GP examination following a severe pain in the chest, I was electrically cardioverted

I had CV a little over a week ago and sadly last night my heart decided to be a total tosser and revert back to AF! So my question is do I contact my GP in the morning or my cardio nursing team? I was taken off digoxin after my CV should I start taking them again? I am new to this so not sure how it
