Surviving Dialysis
But I saw this statistics on a website and wonder what are some reasons that people die from
dialysis
and more importantly, how to prevent those cases? "After one year of treatment, those on
dialysis
have a
20-25%
mortality rate, with a 5-year survival rate of 35%.

Alternatives to Statins
It works a lot like
dialysis
. Your blood is removed via a needle in your arm. The blood goes through a tube and enters a special filter called a plasma separator, which separates the blood and removes the cholesterol. The cholesterol-filtered blood is then returned to your body.

Preparing for dialysis, scared and confused
Hi, 49 y.o. female. To give a little background on me, I was working in 2008 when I was found to have protein in my urine. Scared and stupid I didn't go back to the nephrologist. Stopped working in 2010, complicated reasons. From 2010 to 2018 health was declining, I kept putting off going to the doctor

I felt good for staving off
dialysis
for 3 years! I really started this post to ask about the cottage cheese, but I got carried away. I've had a rough time (financial issues: car, air compressor, car again x 3) the last few months.

Dialysis Nurses Trying to give unsolicited medical advice
At my
dialysis
center I currently use a permacath due to my graft that I've had for 6 years stopped working. Tried having it declotted. But, they don't last forever. The Charge Nurse keeps hounding me about a new access. I've had 2 PD pumps before both after the graph.

Forever Grateful!!!
We are getting ready to do PD
dialysis
at home but this entire ordeal has been so surreal. I can't thank the National Kidney Foundation and Davita's
Dialysis
enough for the help and support they have given and shown us over the last 1 1/2. My heart is so full of appreciation.
