Know your diabetes.Type2. Part--2
The second type of diabetes is much more common. This occurs in middle-aged people, especially if they are overweight. Because it occurs later in life, this type of diabetes is often called adult-or maturity-onset diabetes. It is also called type-2 diabetes. Type-2 diabetes is quite different from Type

Know your diabetes.let us start from basics. It is just recap, every diabetic know about details of diabetes. Part---1.
The word 'diabetes' comes from a Greek word meaning a 'flowing through'. It refers to the increased amount of urea excreted in the disease, a phenomenon called polyuria. The commonest form is called diabetes mellitus, or 'sweet flowing through', because glucose appears in urine. It is this form of diabetes

Why no ESR test?
When I had blood tests today I asked the phlebotomist what I was being tested for. She said "liver and kidney function, glucose and CRP". I was very surprised I was not being tested for ESR, particularly as I had a flare recently. I am deducing that CRP is probably a more accurate marker of inflammation

Today's Doc's Appointment.
Woohoo! I think I might be getting somewhere! After a pretty bad week with a nasty flare up of joint pains, night sweats and heaven knows what else, my doctor has organised a load of tests. I think he was a little taken aback when he saw the new lumps on my hands and the swollen elbows. I dunno what

The Diet Note, you can eat as much of the foods below as you like, but I’ve found that I quickly feel full eating this diet. Don’t overeat and more importantly, don’t under-eat

An attempt to understand the physiology behind the success of LWMDR, in controlling blood sugar.A coincidence or possibility.
The long wheat is nothing but a carbohydrate. It is common knowledge that all carbs. Increase blood sugar. So to control blood sugar low carb. diets are advocated. So against the common belief how it is possible the reverse to be true? Starch is a form of carb. which is easily broken down and absorbed. Now

LCHF works.Progress report after 9 months. Lipids ???
Reporting improvement in glucose and tryglecerides after the third quarter of LCHF practice. No drugs. But in lipid profile, there is little to write home. Values for the last three quarters (August - November -February) HbA1C 5.8 > 5.3 > 5.1 FBS 115 > 102 > 108 PPBS 135 > 125 > 110 Tryglecerides

Worried after visit to doctor today
My GP weighed me and said I had put on a stone in 3 months. Then he tested my blood via finger prick and found my glucose levels were pre-diabetic. Next, my blood pressure had gone up. He said I had been reducing the steroids much too slowly, which I disagree with as I don't think from 20 mg to 12.5

We need help with late dumping syndrome please
My husband who had a trans hiatal oesophagectomy in July last year is having a difficult time with late dumping syndrome. It started just after Christmas and he was able to control it at the first signs of a hot sweat with two glucose tablets. However, over the past week this method is not working.
