Hypothyroid, coeliac, PMR - my journey to 0 pred
I do wonder whether I needed to be on it for so long but the anaesthetist who advised me on the hip ( no GA, spinal and sedation instead) and who’d given me a large dose of
dexamethasone
during the operation ( incidentally now used for severe Covid) said I shouldn’t lower my pred till some time after

Clodronate. And how to deal with emerging Radiation Induced lumbo-sacral plexopathy?
Treatments that may help to devend against its progression include: Corticosteroids (short term moderate dose like
dexamethasone
5 mg BID); The combination of petaxofylline (trental) with alpha tocopherol Vitamin E at 1,000 IU/day; And perhaps the bisphosphonate clodronate.

DOUBLE CONDTIONS TREATED WITHPRED
I have been put on a 4 day dose of
Dexamethasone
. 40 a Day. Am flying as i habe been on 5 m of prednison for five years controlling both my PMR and keeping my platelets about 30 with no unusual bleeding or symptoms. This drop in platelets happen just as I felt I might be going into PMR remission.

Bladder problems??
After 3 months on Zytiga and Prednisone with no drop in a climbing PSA ( 6.4 in 12/19 to 20.1 on 11/14/20)we elected to try
Dexamethasone
with the Zytiga. I was on Xtandi for 3 yrs prior. But I noticed my evening bladder leakage problems got much worse.

Zytiga with dexamethasone
My husband had to switch from prednisone to
dexamethasone
and Zytiga 3 months ago. The psa has made a steady decline . 9.3 ,4.9,and now 3.6. I’m wondering how others have done on this protocol? And is the fact he’s finally below 4.0 of any significance?

I’m on 1200mg progesterone, 6mg progynova, 1mg
dexamethasone
, 80mg aspirin, 40mg Clexane daily. Plus I had filgrastim 3 days before transfer to help it stick and also the intralipid drip on the day of transfer. Also had the endo scratch last month, that is supposed to increase chances.

Genital Lichen Sclerosus
Hi everybody, I was diagnosed with BXO a few days ago. I had always had phimosis (full retraction when flaccid; none when erect) but in last 5 months my phimosis had closed completely and I developed scarring and discolouration on the foreskin. At the moment, my foreskin is so tight that it is uncomfortable

Happy Last Chemo Day!
He always feels great the first 3 days after chemo because of the
Dexamethasone
they give him before his infusion but about the 4th day he has a chemo crash. This last time he also had a little nausea for about 4 days and that was the first time he ever experienced that.

Update to just what I didn't need
I'm on antibiotics for cellulitis in my arm from a cannula and more for my UTI after removal of my catheter but hopefully they will start working soon 😊 The problem with the trial was that they wanted me to come off
dexamethasone
before I started.

Similarities between long covid and PMR
I have no medical knowledge at all, but it seems that if the recovery from this virus is being helped with
dexamethasone
, is there a link to us all being on steroids of one form or another which is the only way we can operate.

Please guide on Medical oncologist's advice
Should I change abiratarone to enzaluatamide or should I just change Prednisone to
dexamethasone
and not changing abiratarone? What dosage of
dexamethasone
should he take as he used to have 5 mg Prednisone so should he take 0.5 mg
dexamethasone
or 1 mg.? Any other options available ?

Remdesivir study finally published – an expert in critical care medicine gives us his verdict.
So far the only drug that has been shown to reduce deaths from the disease has been
dexamethasone
, a steroid that suppresses the immune system through its anti-inflammatory effects. Steroids have a secondary effect on the disease – they don’t target the virus itself.

18 years with metastatic prostate cancer – operation number three, but no good news for me – the end game begins.
The steroids do their stuff and reduced the pain significantly, but, as ever, they gave me the roid rage, made me incredibly antsy, and forced me to eat like a pig (this is
dexamethasone
, which is always worse than prednisone for me).
