Dexamethasone Suppression Test and Period?
Repost, because my first one did not receive any responses. Hi, everyone! I had a dexamethasone suppression test the other week. Has anyone ever had a change in the periods due to taking steroids? I'm not sure if it's related or not... I took the dexamethasone on Thursday night and I got my period

Dexamethasone suppression test and my period?
Hi, everyone! I had a dexamethasone suppression test the other week. Has anyone ever had a change in the periods due to taking steroids? I'm not sure if it's related or not... I took the dexamethasone on Thursday night and I got my period on 1/7/17 It's 7-10 days early and I'm usually very regular.

The difference between steroids like Dexamethasone and Medrol Dose Pack, plus radiation of lymph nodes behind the trachea.
My cousin's husband is undergoing radiation. They are giving him 13 spot radiation treatments in a few areas. They found some lymph nodes behind his trachea which they are radiating. They also are radiating 3 thoracic vertebrae, 5, 6, and 7. They are doing all the radiation at one time. I have a lot

Pulsed Steroids
I've looked into steroids before, usually searching "steroids for spasticity" This time, I searched "for demyelination". Get this... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19001164 This steroid regimen leads to significant improvement in weakness and disability in all patients treated and to off-treatment

Suspected Cushing's: High cortisol levels on saliva test, now low cortisol after 8 months on Levothyroxine. Can this happen with Cushing's?
Hi all. For a number of years I've been increasingly ill and earlier this year a doctor suggested I be checked for Cushing's as I have many of the primary symptoms, including huge weight gain around my stomach (despite genuinely eating little food due to nausea), the stria (reddish purple stretch marks

Hypothyroid symptoms but apparently I'm "normal"!!!
Hi all, 29 yr old female feeling 89 yr old! Been hypothyroid for 8 years and take 125 levothyroxine presently. I seem to have gotten worse over the last year. I've put on 4-5 stone in the past few years and I feel absolutely exhausted now to the point it is having a very negative impact on my life!

Dexamethasone suppression test
I've had a dexamethasone suppression test recently, to check for Cushing's. I don't have many of the signs, but do have central obesity. I didn't get much sleep on the night of the test, and felt a bit jittery on the day. I would've thought that if my cortisol was being suppressed I would be sleepier

A little help with results
Back from the doctor with what I am supposing is good news. My doctor has a very thick accent and though I believe him to be very good, I sometimes have a little trouble understanding him. LOL Platelets are now in the normal range. Were 82 now 190. C reactive is down. No h. Pylori. This is what I need

Hope this is okay to ask here
I have been told I have splenic marginal zone lymphoma. Platelet count 82. Also something called c reactive protein. Falling the dexamethasone regiment for treating ITP. Will be getting more blood done soon. Needing help to know what questions I should be asking when I see my doctor again. Thank you.

A diagnosis
Just back from the doctor. After all the blood work and the ultra sound, he says I have ITP. Has given me dexamethasone to take. And will see me again in a month. Is this diagnosis anything that should be discussed here, or do I need to find another group? Thanks for everyone's concern and advice in

High PSA
I'm new to this site, so here's my story so far: Two years ago (when I was 68) I lost my appetite and began losing weight - I went from 12 stone in April 2014 to about 10.5 stone over two or three months. My doctor did not start doing blood tests until June of that year and did not include a PSA test

Dexamethasone Reactions?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any experience of having done the Dexamethasone suppression test? I've got a it arranged for next week but I'm slightly nervous about having it done. This is really down to the fact that so far I haven't had an actual diagnosis and no doctors know what's wrong

Info on Dexamethasone Side Effects Anyone Please
3/18/2016 I am Adverse to Pharmaceuticals and follow a holistic approach. My hematologist convinced me to try Dexamethasone since my platelets were at 17. ....what a mistake. First of all I didn't know that it is 5 times stronger than prednisone. I was reluctantly open to try it because of the short

No sleep and pain getting worse
Diagnosed Dec 15. 30 mg of Prednisone took pain away instantly. Doc reduced the dose by half and I had full flare. Back up to 20 mg but had to stop as swelling from Prednisone caused such major edema that my breathing was affected. Changed to 4mg of Dexamethasone 2 weeks ago. I now wake up at 3
