34 yr old with Temperal Arteritis?
Anyone out there younger with this diagnosis? I believe this is what I'm dealing with but docs don't even want to entertain the idea because I'm too young. I'm 34. I'm feeling lost & scared. I'm on 4mg dose pack of Medrol steroid. It isn't helping much. I took this same dose pack a month ago & it helped

Depo Medrol shot for Flare
Hi everyone, I am on Actemra for PMR. I am also currently on 4mg of Rayos (time released Prednisone). I recently had a flare because I reduced too quickly. Completely my fault as I was feeling so great. The drop to 3mg was too fast and against Dr orders (and the Aunties). The next morning I could

Are there any PMR patients in the United States taking Medrol instead of prednisone? Will U.S. doctors prescribe Medrol instead of prednisone if requested by the PMR patient?

Prednisone vs Prednisolone
I don't understand why prednisone is prescribed when prednisolone is available. Why do doctors in the U.S. prescribe prednisone when Medrol is available. If the liver has to convert the prednisone into prednisolone why not just take the prednisolone directly? I suspect that in the U.S. that prednisone

5 month update... still a mixed bag! Cholesterol??
Hi All... well I'm still here which is a good thing! Things have continued to be very up and down unfortunately and the emotional effects really started to kick in a month or so back when the realisation of what happened, what could have happened, what might happen all started to overwhelm me a little

Provenge
Finished first round of Provenge. I was given benadril before starting infusion. After infusion I got chills, nausea, fatigue, and dizziness. My blood pressure dropped to 90/50 and it took about 5 hours to get back to normal. I was given demerol for the chills and tremors. I was also given medication

Free of PMR
Hi, in 2011 i was diagnosed with PMR and started with 16mgr medrol. Everytime we lowered the dose to 4mgr, i had to go back to 12mgr or 8 mgr because i was back in pain and my blood results were bad. End 2015 i've stopped the medication and went to another doctor. She put me on a detox and an other way

Question and opinions about cholesterol
Basic facts. I'm a 66 year old male. Diagnosed with high cholesterol years ago. Initially prescribed Atorvastatin 10mg daily for a number of years. Eventually I often said to my wife, in response to things she said, " You didn't tell me that!" She always suggested that she had. This went on for quite

Would appreciate feedback on doctor
I realise this may sound strange but, lately, I have been trying to figure out if my so called hormone doctor is a good doctor or not, at least as far as I'm concerned...so I'd appreciate any feedback on the treatment so far (first visit to doctor in late 2011): - I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue

Living with PMR
I'm a 53 year old female suffering from PMR for a year and a half now. I am down to 6mg a day and feeling pretty good. I have learned when you go down in your dosage to do it real slow. I got very swollen and puffy in my face, tummy and back of the neck. I didn't even recognize myself. I have decreased

ANA used to be 1:1320 but is now negative. Thoughts?
Hi. I'm new here. Hope that explains the slightly long intro :). In 2014, my ANA was ~1:1320. I was diagnosed with ITP and SLE; I was in the ER 3 times and was found on at least four occasions to have severely low platelets (2-6 range). I was initially treated with prednisone, and, since it proved to

How much adrenal cortex is there in whole adrenal...?
Does anyone have any idea how much adrenal cortex whole adrenal approximately contains? I have been on 250 mg of adrenal cortex extract for the past year, after weaning off Medrol for adrenal fatigue, and have felt wonderful on it. But I have just started taking a supplement containing, among other things

New here-going to MS clinic this week
My Qs: anyone here diagnosed with normal lumbar puncture? Or misdiagnosed with migraine before MS diagnosis? This seems like a lovely community. I'm just going to jump in as I have my first MS clinic appt this week. I have seen two neurologists that say my mri lesions are migraine but my GP said no way

Treatment of Systemic Onset JIA with Actemra (Tocilizumab)
My 2 year old Son was diagnosed with Systemic onset JIA on in June 2017. Though the symptoms started few days before diagnosis, pediatric rheumatologist started treatment of SoJIA after ruling out septic arthritis. NSAID - 2 weeks Predinsolone - 4 weeks ( 2mg/kg/day) - Now in tapering

Overactive bladder
The medication cost of
Detrol
LA,capsules, or it's generic, tolterodine tartrate, is very expensive, I figured it is about $5 a pill. I can't get along without it unless i want to be up 7 times a night to the bathroom. It cuts it down to 2 or 3.
