Critical step forward in understanding Parkinson's disease and how to treat it

Pain, Stenosis, C/L and Parkinson
Cervical stenosis of the neck and spine of the back. The neck is more acute than the back. I am taking generic Caridopa / Levodopa 2 tabs 100/25 every 4 hours Taking a C/L tablet help relieve pain for 3-4 hours. I'm wondering which of these two paths seems to be more accurate? 1) C/L tablet

Midlife milk consumption and substantia nigra neuron density at death
The researchers found that subjects who drank more than 2 cups of milk per day during their midlife years had approximately 40% fewer dopamine neurons Interesting article re Dairy product consumption and associated risk of Parkinson’s, https://scienceofparkinsons.com/2022/05/10/dairy/#more-66729

New Hope for Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease: Designer Neurons
"The new research describes the implantation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to replace dopamine-producing neurons destroyed by Parkinson’s disease. Such cells not only survive the grafting procedure and manufacture dopamine, but send out their branching fibers through the neural tissue to

ADHD and PD
I’ve just been diagnosed with ADHD. Seeing as both ADHD and Parkinson’s involve lack of dopamine I’m surprised more people with PD aren’t diagnosed with ADHD. Sinemet doesn’t affect the ADHD symptoms for me. I’ve been prescribed Ritalin. Does anyone else here have ADHD?

Lyrica ocular side effects and more
I am an optometrist in Colorado with severe RLS symptoms. This forum is an excellent method of sharing information on a complicated multifactorial enigma that desperately needs some solution to this pharmacologic mess. Maybe somebody can get more clues to give better relief without the nasty side effects

Coffee & caffeine: can the benefits of coffee be replicated without coffee?
Coffee is said to increase cortisol. Caffeine is said to increase anxiety. I need to reduce both but I drink coffee daily for its neuro protective benefits. Can I finally say goodbye to coffee and replicate these benefits via a different means? I’m revisiting this subject because I’m really tired

NAC symptomatic or disease modifying?
"This study is an important step in understanding how N-acetylcysteine might work as a potentially new avenue for managing Parkinson's patients. The NAC appears to enable dopamine neurons to recover some of their function," Managing PD does not sound like disease modifying but if dopamine neurons can

A HU comment contained the following: “but there was some clinical data that indicated that animal proteins are one of the causes of alpha-synuclein, which is thought to be the primary culprit in clogging the dopamine receptors. So whether it's meat or dairy, animal proteins are not good for us with

Relief from home made electrolyte drink
Hi all, I've been suffering from RLS for about 7-8 years now. Have refused the dopamine options continually thrust at me by GPs (who prefer to believe their pharma rep than do any research - or read here!), and have done all the iron and magnesium tests, sleep apnea, etc, with no helpful conclusions.
