Denosumab, is it worth it
What exactly would
denosumab
do for me other than side effects and having to drive 8 hours to get the shot which costs $150 after insurance? The "billed" cost is over $11,000

looking for recommendations, other options, last advice we got from a doc...nubeqa isn't working but let's keep doing it
-
denosumab
60 mg every 3 months 2021 -transition 1/2022 to darolutamide 600 mg twice daily due to cognitive dysfunction and tremors on enzalutamide. Darolutamide better tolerated but intermittent right arm tremors. - Germline/somatic mutational testing negative for BRCA1/2 and MSI stable.

my dilemma Denomosab
The consultant suggested that I now try six monthly
Denosumab
injections . I am now worried about the side effects and long term implications of this but can’t seem to find an alternative and have a fear of my bones becoming weaker. can anyone help?

Bone Density - Dexa
But doctors persist in prescribing harmful Bisphosphonates &
Denosumab
(Prolia / Xgeva). (Given that my results were all "normal", I don't know what significance I should place on the T- & Z-scores.) -Patrick

Anti-PCa effects of statins, prednisone, aspirin and denosumab (Xgeva)
When my recent bone density scan came back osteopenic, my MO immediately recommended
denosumab
which is yet another medicine with an SE or 2-3. After studying its effects, I can see why.

Has anyone been on Prolia since they were in their 50s or early 60s and stayed on it long term?
I would be interested in hearing from anyone (or if you know someone) who has been on Prolia (
denosumab
) since they were in their 50s or early 60s, and stayed on it long term. I am due to start this treatment in a few days and I am 59. I am concerned of the long term effects.

Denosumab if bone strength increasing on ADT?
At the time of his diagnosis he was advised
Denosumab
because a Dexa scan showed osteoporosis. He never took these injections - he is a difficult patient with poor compliance to medicines. A repeat Dexa after a year shows that his bone strength has actually increased.

Started Triplet Therapy this week, new doc, new (better) treatment plan!
he should have genetic testing; we can do this via the biorepository protocol if he is interested, IRB 07047 he should have DEXA or just be treated with bone support (
denosumab
Prolia dosing or zoledronic acid Reclast dosing)

Question on treatment options (long)
Also to start
denosumab
, such as prolia or romosozumab such as evenity. Both have serious side effects and I am not one to take drugs unless I absorb have to. Am looking for experiences from those who have dealt with this before I make my decision. Thanks for any feedback.

Got PSMA SCAN Results-Now What?
Soon thereafter there was a conflict between Dr Sartor and the local oncologist as he wanted me to start on a regime of
denosumab
(Xgeva). Dr Sartor said if anything, go with Prolia as it’s 60 mg of
denosumab
every 6 months vs the Xgeva regime which is 120 mg of
denosumab
every month.

Help: Metastasized Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer!
First I was put on bicalutamide, prednisone and Xgeva (
denosumab
). Later I was switched to Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) with an injection of lupron every three months. Then I was put on Xtandi with lupron once per month.

Self Injecction
I can self inject my
Denosumab
(Xgeva I think in US). This means I rarely have to attend the hospital from now on. My GP does my Zoladex injection and my meds are sent in the post. I go for bloods once a month and get a telephone appt following this.

Unfortunate News precipitated by rare side effect of Docetaxl
He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate cancer in June 2020 and started ADT (Arbiraterone + Degarelix (monthly) +
Denosumab
(Quarterly)) soon after. His cancer became Castration Resistant starting May 2021 (PSA doubling time around a month) and he insisted starting chemotherapy soon.

denosumab (XGEVA, Prolia) as a prophylactic against prostate cancer spreading to the bones
She has indicated to me that side effects are not a major issue for
denosumab
. Any thoughts of comments on this, whether practical or theoretical. Has anyone heard of such a use of
denosumab
? Are there any other such prophylactics that you have heard of?

Denosumab side effects
My Oncologist wants to start me on
Denosumab
injections, bi-monthly, to strengthen my bones. I am reading the side effects which all sound pretty horrible, including brittle and broken bones (which seems counter intuitive!).
