ca-125 after debulking surgery
Hi nordic5
My CA125 was 8 after surgery and before chemo. It was 76 before surgery xx Jen
Mine was 69 when clear cell cancer was diagnosed and post surgery it dropped in the following months, 18, 16, ending at 7 (5 months later) I thought this was the success of the chemo but they told me it was actually what they expected to see post-surgery β¦ with the slightly higher numbers being due to inflammation.
Hi Jazmin222, my ca-125 was ten times lower after surgery then before, but still not normal, During chemo successfully dropped 10 and is the same next 18 months
Hello - Before surgery it was 111 and then dropped after surgery to 5. something and has stayed 5. something throughout chemo. Fingers crossed it stays that way! Was diagnosed with Mucinous Inflitrative OC 1C. x
CA125 levels vary enormously even for individual patients, and the level can be elevated by many things other than cancer (false positive). It can also give false negatives. The number itself is almost meaningless. The trend is much more informative. Don't concentrate on the number, it'll just cause you stress.
My CA125 was 4300 before debulking as inflammation can cause it to elevate which a debulking surgery can do it my CA125 wasn't drawn until I was midway thru carbo/taxol at that time it was 15 at end of frontline it was 6.
Before was 180. After was 19. Very reassuring.
so mine was clear cell and it was only ca 125 of 28 before surgery and now itβs around 7. However seems for me the ca 125 is not a great marker
I had CA-125 of 10180 pre surgery then 209 3 days after. Now 6 ππ»ππ»ππ»
It had spread from ovary to bowel, spleen omentum and more. Lots removed and 19.5 hrs surgery but that saved my life. Now on maintenance chemo to hold back return of BRCA cancer. Good luck all. Keep smiling π
