Small amount of ascites on scan

Hello Ladies

My oncologist ordered a CT as my CA125 number has been doubling monthly. I have been on Zejula 100mg since November 2023. I was diagnosed with stage 3c PPC in April of 2023. Received 3 rounds chemo then debulking surgery followed by 3 more rounds of chemo. I have had 3 CT scans through June all showed NED even though CA 125 was rising. This latest scan showed no tumors but a very small amount of ascites. My oncologist believes cancer is recurring. He wants to do a PET scan then ultrasound in a few weeks to see if ascites is progressing. I am becoming very distraught but trying to stay positive. He did discuss more chemo as well as Keytruda. I am reaching out to you ladies to see if anyone else has experienced this. Love to you all!

Marietta

I did.

CA 125 started climbling.

Slowly at first.

6, 8, 11, 13, 14, 22, 22, 70, 200.

CT Scans were clear for a year.

But the doctors quite telling me that Ca125 usually starts rising about 6 months before anything is shown on a scan.

Had a pet scan, it showed 10 microscopic spots.

So i'm back on treatment, my second line.

The wait to see if it was back was worse than it actually being back.

Don't get me wrong, i'm devastated at my first recurrence.

But the fear, the anticipation, was worse than anything.

Once I knew for certain and the hospital made a plan, it seemed doable.

Now I'm two treatments down.

And feel stronger mentally than before I was waiting to find out.

Hi Marietta,

Like Diana said the hospital will put a plan in place, if needed & you can move on.

The only hope I can give you is I had 4.5 litres of fluid drained in Mar & my scans were stable.

I had 8 litres drained in June & scan showed a reoccurrence in 2 lymph nodes. I'm back on treatment & all is going good. ( Don't get me wrong would prefer not to be on treatment) My hope on this is all my organs were clear. Have to take the positive where I can get it.

Try not to worry xx

Hi Marietta,At the moment I'm on Carbo/gem. Day 1,8 & 21. Day 1 & 21 both Carbo/gem & day 8 just Gem.

I am having session 6 on Tues but should be no. 8, 2 sessions were cancelled because my white blood cells were low. Besides that I'm doing ok. Only side affect is I get tired. But when that happens I rest. Best of luck to you & I hope the ascites stays at at small amount. Sending good wishes your way xx
