To"Parkies" who have a lot of "off" looks as if you need a revision of your medicines. A neurologist who has a special interest in Parkinsons is the best.
Requip is a good medicine, but I have experienced vivid dreams, and not much REM sleep. The neuologist reduced Requip depå till 2mg/day and also wrote out Clonazepam to take at nighttime to help with sleep. My opinion - doesn't really work.
Having a lot of "off's" you can consider DBS or Duodopa pump. I have had a "pump" for about 6 weeks, haven't really come to terms with it, still needs adjusting. Only " Parkie" tablet I take is Levocar to natten
Eating problems and medicines not working. Try not to eat too much protein during the day. Eat protein substances about an hour before meals or 2 hours after. I know this sounds crazy, I tried it and it worked.

Hi, I take Clonazepam for REM Sleep Behaviour Disorder. I can act out my dreams, and did do often before taking the Clonazepam. I also have Restless Leg Syndrome and take Requip for that. I don't sleep well at all although with the amount of meds I have I should be unconscious! Im not sure that it help me to sleep but it stops the acting out and I don't want to stop either of them. I hope you get sorted soon.
I had to come off Requip because of what it made me do and now I have terrible "off" times. I was taking 24mg of Requip, a 12mg pill in the morning and at night. I was also taking four Stalevo 25/100's and four Sinemet CR's throughout the day. I actually felt normal most of the time. I liked the vivid dreams and the hallucinations mostly just hearing people talk and the feelings of something crawling in bed. Now I feel terrible and get no more than 3 straight sleeping hours.
I'm trying Rytary and at first I thought it may not work but may need to rethink that. My second dose was at 0730 today and I took a stalevo at 0930 and right now at noon my whole body will not stop moving.
I take Clonazepam at night also which doesn't seem to work. I initially got it for a panic attack I had.
