DBS and meds
DBS
and meds. I can’t get my meds correct after my first
DBS
programming. I used to take stalevo 200 every 2 1/2 hours. The doctor got me on rytary now two 245 mg capsules then following my old schedule. Now I’m overdosing. Who’s got
DBS
and how much meds they take.

Light Interview
I have taken all my qualifications, my CV and my Enhanced
DBS
. She says there is a course that I can enrol on, about mental health awareness. It normally costs £300.00 but I will get it free. I will keep you posted.

Saying hello from isolation W2 Day1
Keep up the good work everybody, enjoy your runs, but most of all stay safe 😷😁 Edit: Forgot to say that I volunteered to be a NHS responder as there is a role you can do from home if you’ve had a recent
DBS
check.

DBS for non tremor
An acquaintance of mine who has the wonderful disease was told by their PD nurse that
DBS
wasn’t really an option as he had no tremor. I’m a little surprised at this remark and wondered what the community thinks about this. Thanks and best wishes 😊

I’m curious if anyone has experience or knowledge of the new generation of
DBS
units that have “steerable “ current. More specifically, I am interested in the St. Jude Infinity units ability to be used after the Medtronic units have seemed to lose therapeutic efficacy.

Ok, I'm bad. I just turned 63 and my home general DR. insists on a colonoscopy. I have never.... I mean you know "exit only" had one.
My question is: Should I be concerned about my
DBS
considering they are giving me a "party girl" drip? I tolerated Cateract procedure 5 years ago w/o any concerns but the dr. says this will take a little longer and I am a few years further into noticeable progressions than I was at that time.

01/11/2020 neurologist appointment
Recommends again
DBS
for tremor. Says to qualify you must first show good response with medications. In my case that is carbidopa levodopa. Increased, for effort to control tremor, my CL dose interval to two hours.

DBS for Mom who is 85
My Mom was initially not ready for
DBS
. Now she would like to go that direction. I contacted her Neuro and they said she is not a candidate for
DBS
and mentioned her age of 85. Now what? Do I push for another opinion from another Neuro?

Kent - Baby Observation
I’m happy to travel & work around the family, and I of course, have a
DBS
and an NHS covering letter. Any help or advice on how I might go about finding a family open to this would be so super helpful. Thank you in advance! :)

Job.
I have applied for my enhanced
DBS
even though I already have one. I go to register on Wednesday and will probably start work after Christmas now. I am feeling very well in myself. I have been reading my books on Narcissistic mothers and Complex PTSD.

Neurologist Examination
Additionally, his disease type would also respond very well to
DBS
(considering that levodopa is effective for his tremor) Encouraged to take 50/200 ER at his usual bedtime of about 10:30 at night explaining to him that it would be better physiologically for him to not go 12 hours without C/L.

NY Times Report: 9 PwP Lost Ability to Swim After DBS
This is a blow for those of us looking at
DBS
further down the road as a possible last-resort therapy, but I guess it will be a matter of weighing up the pros and cons when we have to confront the choice to go ahead or not. Has anyone in this community who’s had
DBS
encountered the same issue?

Severe impaction told to use lactulose then Movicol
Hi Guys, As the title says I've finally been diagnosed (after a CT Scan and Colonoscopy) with impacted bowel.
