Kent - Baby Observation

Hi everyone I’m Katherine :)

I hope it's okay to post on here!

Advice so far on here has been really helpful, so giving the post another go!

I am doing an NHS training Masters in child development which I am doing in the evenings after work. ( I live in Kent and study in London)

The main part of the training is observing a new baby in the home as a sort of 'fly on the wall' to observe the experiences and development week by week during term time and experience all the incredible changes that are constantly happening together with the family.

So, I am looking for a family that are expecting / have a new baby ( max 3 weeks) that would be kind enough to allow me to watch their baby grow with them. I know this is a big ask at a really special time.

Feedback from families that have completed these observations is really positive, of having someone else to notice all the little changes in their baby week by week with them.

I’m happy to travel & work around the family, and I of course, have a DBS and an NHS covering letter.

Any help or advice on how I might go about finding a family open to this would be so super helpful.

Thank you in advance! :)

Have you contacted your local Midwifery Group, G.P Health Visitors? Maybe you could place a flyer in the waiting room.

In this day and age not many people would respond to an internet request but they probably will through more credible sources. Good Luck.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I have contacted all of the above as I already work for the NHS, but no luck so far.

I have had the most success on here - unfortunately all of the people so far that have replied either have babies that are already over the age limit or they live way too far away.

I will keep going! :)
