Does anyone have experience of any problems with DBS and the use of induction cookers?
I'm due to be assessed for
DBS
at Frenchay (Bristol UK) hospital next year - having been told I am a suitable case and have just discovered that the pacemaker-type implant may be problematic with the induction cooker we use. Has anyone got any experience with these devices?

Irritable Bowel Syndrome & AF/SVT
This post was originally on the Arrhythmia Alliance site..... I have tried to convince my GP and Cardiologist for 2 years now, that food bears some connection to SVT for me anyway. Eventually I got a referral to a Gastroenterologist who did numerous blood and urine tests, before Christmas. Apparently

Feeling a bit sad
Just needing a bit of a moan :( I have put in a poor few days, pain going down my right leg, pain in my right shoulder, sore back, sore head, post coital bleeding and just generally feeling pretty useless and broken. I've just had my period so thought the worst would be over but it seems to be worse

What are the attributes of an effective treatment for PD?
Now let’s apply his five rules
DBS
. First surgery attempted in 1987; published paper in 1993; no trials; authorized by the FDA in 2001; paper questioning general practice of
DBS
without trials, 2003; first published trial results in 2010. The trial is touted for having 366 participants.

DBS? . . . . . HELP!
She is a movement disorder specialist and is a big proponent of
DBS
. I've known this about her since I began seeing her almost 2 years ago. However, we hadn't really discussed
DBS
prior to this most recent visit.

Does anyone who has had DBS experience sharp, electrical like pains shooting down their legs. If so, can anything be done about it?
I am posing this question on behalf of a friend who has had
DBS
, but does not use the Internet. He had his
DBS
operation four years ago and goes for a 2 day assessment in London later this week.

Bowel Preparation
Hi. I am having a endoscopy on Friday due to bowel pain I've experienced since my lap in August. I've been given a cancellation appointment so only got the letter/instructions regarding the bowel prep today and I'd already had a small amount of bran flakes for breakfast as I didn't realise you shouldn't

Two questions for those with DBS
There has been several questions recently about
DBS
which leads me to 2 more. There are 2 different sites for electrode placement. One is the globus pallidus internus and the other is the more common site, the subthalamic nucleus. Do you know which site has been used in your procedure?

Hospitalisation and other things
I will do my best to remember that I have this account and try and post on here from time to time.It has been such a long time since I posted on here (just over a year, maybe a little more). This is somewhere I need to remember to post really, as it's a good source for people to find information on
