I've just had DBS and I feel so good I could just scream! I love putting my hand on a letter on my keyboard and it staying where I want it to. I am standing up straight for the first time in years. I feel so/so normal. I know I will never be normal but I'm pretty close now. I still need to use my moving devices (scooter and wheel chair) in the stores and such but that's mostly for when the fatigue sets in. I do recommend it for anyone who is
considering it, or talk to your Dr. about it. I know I may sound overly zealous about it but it really is nice to be able to put make-up on with one hand and to stand long enough to make a sandwich or to
retrieve something from the fridge on my own in stead of calling someone to do it for me. The independence I have gained from this surgery is just awesome. The process from start to finish is quite long and arduous at times b/c of testing but be patient the outcome is worth it.
