Does anyone who has had DBS experience sharp, electrical like pains shooting down their legs. If so, can anything be done about it?

I am posing this question on behalf of a friend who has had DBS, but does not use the Internet. He had his DBS operation four years ago and goes for a 2 day assessment in London later this week.
