Hi salon....so soon your DBS after last talking to you...how scary....but you know already you just have to move forward, trust that god will guide the surgeons and focus on something positive. I may not be beside you but from a distance I am squeezing your hand throughout your op and I will not let go until you are sitting up having your tea and toast. Then and only then will I let go....so let us all know ASAP . God bless and stay focused x

Don't except to much to fast, you will be amazed at how wonderful you'll feel, the surgery is hard but it is worth it. DBS gave me back my life!! It will seem everything from turning the machine, to adjusted the power in the feeds, to just getting your hair back will take forever,( I look a littler serial LOL) I had a saying I signed all my emails with and my friends put on T -shirts,for my support system, Then I bought them all sungalsses from a magazine I order from. The sentence was' "My future is so bright, I gotta were shades" We had so much fun with this! So take it easy, serious, I just stayed postivie and thankful for everything...big or small! Good luck and let us know how you are doing, you can't imagine any of it until you live it. God Bless!!

have trust in your surgeons & your neurologist to help get it right, thats what i did & it worked out better than I thought it would. A little prayer helped me as well. Good luck with the operation, I would love to know how it went, so keep the postings coming. This is a story I found on a website which I wish I had said, A lady in Sydney Australia woke the morning after dbs and asked the nurse if she could go to the bathroom & clean her teeth ' of course' said the nurse ten minutes later she asked if she could go & clean them again the nurse asked 'why would you want to'

the lady replied 'because I bloody well can'. Thats how good it feels, you never know how good it is to do little things for yourself until you can again.

Thank goodness… I have been turned on at long last

It is hard to believe that now I can actually walk fast

The before and after show what modern medicine can do

I just wish that all PD patients could have my experience too

Now don’t get me wrong, I had a couple of months that were very tough

But I’d elect to go through DBS again – to be where I am now is enough.

have your operation in the usa , you have the option of having asleep dbs , dont think the uk has that option and after visiting europe for a month seems they are years behind in the medical field but thats just an observation i had while visiting . prefer to choose my own poison so to speak. lol

anyway best of luck and hope it helps you . i chose exercise diet and determination over drugs and surgery and so far so good
