Crestor
40mg daily & my cholesterol has never been less than 4.3 mmol/l. For the past few months I have been taking a Benecol drink each day & my latest blood test (non-fasting) on 5/9/13 revealed a reduction in cholesterol to 3.8 mmol/l & LDL of 1.98 (my LDL is usually elevated).

Have Hashimoto's and Dr. says cholesterol is high, Thyroid high and Vit D low; can't take Lipitor, generic Lipitor, Zocor or Crestor, help
What can I take if it really is my cholesterol and not my thyroid doing this; or is it really my thyroid out of whack? Help need advice before Dr. prescribes RX.

Concerned about taking Crestor
Besides other meds I was also put on
Crestor
to keep my cholesterol low - but my last blood work showed it to be 180 - it has always been less than 200. There's a history of diabetes in my family (both sides) and I am concerned.

Statins Linked With Risk of Musculoskeletal Injury
Of the statin users, the majority was treated with simvastatin (73.5%) and approximately one-third had been prescribed maximum doses of the drugs, including simvastatin 80 mg, atorvastatin 80 mg, or rosuvastatin (
Crestor
, AstraZeneca) 40 mg.

The skin thing!
There has been mention of this issue a couple of times - excess skin after weight loss. So I've done a bit of hunting about. It seemingly works something like this: Firstly, excess skin is probably not going to be a problem if you're talking weight loss of less than about 100lb / 45Kg / 7 stone

Gastroscopy / colonoscopy on Saturday!
Thought I would blog today. I saw a GE (gastroenterologist) Consultant on 5 Feb. Didn't really feel that confident after the meeting. 20 minutes of talk, and then he dictated his letter to my GP for 10 minutes. Not had that experience before and over the last 3 years been going to the Nuffield Orthopaedic

I am taking ropinoral and am taking more and more to try to ease my symptoms
Crestor
, Venlafaxine, Propranolol and Prednisone. I found that in those few days I didn`t take these tablets my RLS seemed better. Could that be the case or was it just my imagination.

no symptoms, sporty, 80% LAD blockage to CABG or not?
The blockage was 33mm which was too long to stent so he said it would be CABG however as he has no symptoms whatsoever - no angina even with heavy excercise he did not do surgery but prescribed aspirin,
crestor
(he has been on for 10 years) and pritor.

Seen consultant for cholesterol results, levels down a little with diet but unsure what to do next. Any comments very welcome!
Does anyone have any comments on this please, am considering
Crestor
but reluctant as actually come from a very long lived family and obviously statins were not available in the 1800's!
