Liquid gel in COVID patients’ lungs makes way for new treatment.

Our findings can also explain why cortisone seems to have an effect on COVID-19,” says Urban Hellman, researcher at Umeå University in Sweden. When performing lung scans on critically ill patients with COVID-19 infection, medical professionals have been able to see white patches.

Appointment with endocrinologist

My GP referred me to an endocrinologist saying my cortisol levels are low. Had a telephone call with him yesterday. He said everyone taking pred has low cortisol levels and nothing to be done. However, he asked if I had some pred injections at home in case of severe sickness or an accident. I haven't

Back pain update

I am waiting to recieve approval from my insurance company to have a procedure where they will inject Cortisone using x-rays to be sure they get the right spot. I am relieved to finally have answers, a plan of action, someone finally listening to me.

Cortisone Injection

If you have had a cortisone injection I’d love to hear your experience (I have had one in my shoulder previously but that was before my arrhythmia problems and drug regime).

Low cortisol levels

My rheumatologist did some blood work today and found that I have low cortisol levels. In fact she said that it was very very low. I can't remember the number she gave me. I don't take prednisone any more and haven't taken it for quite a while. She's going to have a talk with an endocrinologist and get

Adrenavive alternatives?

Hi all, A bit of background... I’ve recently started taking Adrenavive to begin addressing issues with low cortisol. Have been taking it for about a month but have begun to experience what I recognise as symptoms of an autoimmune attack on my thyroid (dull ache in the front of my neck, lump in throat

Excellent resource material about corticosteroids --- relatively easy to read!

For the purpose of this review, "cortisone" is used interchangeably with "corticosteroid." https://cortisone-info.com/en/general-information/what-is-cortisone/ The main topics are across the top but there are many subtopics down the left side. I think it is a well done review.

New results - grateful for any input

I received my thyroid, prolactin and progesterone results from medichecks today. Tested at 08.30, fasting, stopped b supps 1 week before, finger prick test. I asked for prolactin as I’d read somewhere that elevated levels could be an indicator of a pituitary problem and I’ve a suspicion this might be

hpa/stress/adrenal issue or central hypthyroidismo? Is T4 right?

hello. I have posted before. I have low cortisol, low dhea, also low ferritin and a few other things. Low t3, low t4, normal TSH ( many results in link below) An NHS endo who i saw for lipids (they are sky-high too) has said we could try T4 for 6 months. Should I jump at that chance or try and stimulate

Cortisol test

Hi everyone, like most I am feeling very low due to current problems and inactivity. However, I find myself sinking to rock bottom as my ailments give me a bleak outlook. I am currently awaiting a neck and back operation, since July 2019, and am told that the surgery will only prevent further deterioration

The need for biochemical testing for adrenal insufficiency and has anybody had liraglutide injections ?

After my last post I went to see my GP to ask him if I needed a synacthen test to assess my ability to produce natural cortisol as I have tapered to 3mg of prednisolone daily. He took a random blood cortisol test which showed a result of 146nmol/L and as a result referred me to an endocrinologist.

Why Do I Need Such A Massive Dose Of T3?

I started taking T3, T4 and NDT meds around 2 years ago - the dosage that keeps me functional is 80mcg of T3 (but 100mcg is better), and 3 capsules of 300mg ThyroGold (equivalent to around 4-5 grains of NDT I've been told). When I try and switch it out for 200mcg of T4 or 100mcg of T4, the relief of

Split low dose prednisone?

I have tapered slowly down to 4.25 after “parking” at 4.5 mgm for many weeks. I feel rather miserable when waking up:my IBS more crampy than usual and a general feeling of unwell until around lunchtime after which I can do normal stuff and exercise. I have had absolutely no symptoms of PMR for maybe
