Does the anxiety ever go away?
Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good weekend. It is now nearly 12 months since I had my heart attack and my CABG x 4. . The road has been bumpy since then. What with challenges with changing medications and wondering if each twinge or slight pain is another heart attack. The main problem I seem

what exactly does a stent involve?
Consultant has just copied me into letter to GP which seems to suggest that the choice is mine, to have or not, and I’m not clear what this would involve! 😬 Any advice, please?

Living with Unstable Angina
I am a young 57 year old woman but I have unstable angina. I had a heart attack in 2018 and had a stent fitted. I am finding it very difficult to cope with unstable angina. I am taking a copious amount of medication and have been hospitalised to try and sort this out. I find I can only walk a

Mysterious u-turn
After all the usual tests late last year I was diagnosed with angina and severe heart disease. I was told that due to the nature of my condition stents were not an option and by pass surgery was required.Towards the end of April this year I was told the surgery was scheduled for the following week. Don't blame it all on the prednisone! Check things out.👩🏻⚕️ or 👨🏻⚕️
I'm writing to add a soft warning to be mindful. I was diagnosed with GCA in 2019 and finally got down to single digits this summer, I'm taking 5 mg per day plus Actemra. I'm only dropping .5 mg every six weeks. It has been fairly smooth except the fatigue, I did nothing and was [i]so, so tired![/

Exercise
I need some information about safe and effective types of exercise for people with a history of heart attack and atrial fibrillation. My heart attack was six years ago and was treated with one stent. I have had two emergency admissions with fast AF; the first was one year after the heart attack and induced

Just getting worse.
Hello everyone.I had a heart attack in August and had a stent fitted. This was all fine and I was discharged after a couple of days and was a happy man, feeling lucky and ready to get back to some sort of normality. However after a few weeks I had a setback when some nasty chest pains had me visiting

Heart attack I didn’t know about?
I’ve just come back from seeing my cardiologist who said I’m doing pretty well following my quadruple CABG 6 weeks ago but wants me to do some stress tests because I’ve used my gtn a couple of time since. The big thing is now we had time to chat as my surgery was pushed through really quickly following

Doing the Plank post CABG?
hi i am 6 months post quad CABG and in a good place fitness wise. i want to do some more core exercises so was thinking of the plank which I did pre-op. Question, when just lying on my front on a hard carpeted floor I can still feel pain in the centre of my chest which I understand is normal.

Beauty - laser treatments
Hi, Following my HA and stent in May 21 I have lost 2 stone, with a few more pounds to go! My son gets married next year and purely for vanity I am considering some laser facials which are supposed to plump up the skin and reduce fine lines, which are more prominent since the weight loss. Now I am

Come out feeling worse than when I went in!
Well following 8 months of worrying about having a heart attack, it’s happened. Admitted to hospital for a week, had angiogram which was the most horrendous experience but no need for stent as the culprit artery is too small to stent so prescribed a lot of medication. This was my second angiogram this

2 years ago, I had enjoyed a successful CABG x 3 & a New/ Rebuilt Aorta courtesy of an 11 1/2 hour op. It transpires that was the easy part! 2 years last night I was to suffer stroke, sepsis & a virus that chewed away at my upper lip. My throat became totally blocked, requiring a tracheotomy and I

Losartan not effective
After my procedure with stent my doctor asked my GP to keep my BP at 135/80 on discharge note. I was on rampril 2.5 mg for sometime which was fairly successful for few weeks but then I had dry cough at nights and BP was also shooting up 150 /100 . When I spoke to gp (doctor) they changed it losartan

Rotoblator treatment for unblocking lad artery
After an out of the blue heart attack 5 months ago and a stent being fitted I am now due back in hospital to have my heavily calcified LAD artery drilled out by a rotablator procedure and then having a stent fitted. This is all new to me - anybody had this treatment done who could fill me in on what

Worried
3 months after acute heart attack and stent I'm still short of breath if I do any walking. Is this normal? I quit smoking after 45 years.

Diagonal branch
Hi, I had a HA last November resulting in 4 stents fitted , while having this done consultants tried putting in a 5th stent in my Diagonal Branch. They Had no luck after several attempts and decided to leave that one. Nearly a year has gone past and I still have sharp pains and dull aches on the left
