3 months after acute heart attack and stent I'm still short of breath if I do any walking. Is this normal? I quit smoking after 45 years.

Dear Twiggygirl

The feelings may well be normal for you but it needs checking out,

Please contact your Dr/Heart team over this matter, it maybe just a simple change or tweak of your medication but what ever it is it needs looking at to relieve your worries.

Well done for stoping smoking, but if it was anything like when I stopped, it didn't do nothing { or so it seems } thought at lest after the great effort of doing it that I would feel more benefits other than the extra pennies in my pocket.

Take care

Congratulations on stopping smoking, that's an enormous achievement and will massively improve your fitness, health, and life expectancy.

If you're still feeling short of breath after moderate exertion then you need to see a doctor, could be almost anything, including a mild cough or cold, but it's a symptom you shouldn't let slide.
