With hindsight, what do you wish you'd known when you had your first diagnosis of Parkinsons
I'm new here, but already signed up with the 'heart' section after having 2 new valves, an atriclip and a CABG in February this year.I had a stroke in 2016!Whatever next! Parkinsons is the answer - and I'm determined to fight that too with your help - what a wonderful brother/sisterhood you are. Typing

Infection harvest site. Diabetic
Hi there all :) My dad is 21 days post quadruple bypass surgery. He is doing fairly well however we thought his harvest site (leg) may be infected a few days ago. It is now day 4 of the antibiotics and the wound seems to be worsening. He is diabetic and often has difficulty with wounds not healing as

Supporting a family member
Hello, My first go at this. I've joined to see how families support someone with HF? Just before xmas, Dad had a Stemi and 2 stents fitted immediately although now has heart failure. He's getting better but I'm a nervous wreck all of the time. I've just got over 6 years of mam having heart attacks and

Hi Nice people, hope you are all good and well. I must say that 8 weeks after CABG I’m feeling almost back to normal (as normal as normal can be) .... I had my sign-off meet at the The hospital yesterday, with my Surgeon, the one I look up to now as the man who was between me and my maker. I was very

Pain in stomach after running
I could google it but I’d probably read that I’d need a triple heart bypass or something... the last two times I’ve been running, after an hour or two, I seem to get a pain in my stomach on the left hand side, which lasts into the night. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced similar or if anyone

Coronary Angiogram
I'm due to go into have this on Wednesday. Very relieved, slightly nervous... more than slightly when I think about it too much. The hospital have decided to do a two in one so to speak, if they find it's a blocked artery they will put in a stent whilst I'm there so I'm taking blood thinning tablets

Coming off Ticagrelor
I had heart attack in 2017 and had a stent inserted. In August 2021 I will have been taking Ticagrelor for 4 years without problems (only bruising at times) and also 75mg of Aspirin daily. I am really concerned as the time gets closer to stopping it, do I just stop it I’ve read people can have heart

Now what?
Three years ago I developed a tremor in my dominant arm. At the same time I developed a Deep Vein Thrombosis in the same arm. Then a 100% obstruction of the LAD coronary branch. The LAD is also known as the widow maker. A stent plus drugs cleared all that up but nothing has helped get rid of

Do you keep active
Just a note that having a heart attack and having a stent fitted does not need to be disabling or stop you doing things. I had a heart attack on September the 13th and 3 day's later a stent was fitted. In October I travelled to Spain where I walk and use an E bike to zap around the hills and mountains

Am I classed as having heart disease
I had a minor heart attack at the start of last year due to a narrowing of one of my arteries. They fitted a stent and said there was no other signs of narrowing elsewhere. Do I count as having heart disease?

Stopping Ramilpril
I had a stent fitted in December 2019 due to a blocked artery. I didn’t have any heart or lung problems and have very good blood pressure. My doctor at the time put me on Ramilpril along with other meds and I have recently developed a bad cough which is driving me mad. Would it be safe to stop taking

Pain post bypass surgery
Hi everyone, Mum had quadrupled bypass surgery done just over 3 weeks ago. Mum is only on paracetamols at the moment she came off the Cosine Phosphate due to some of the side effects. Please can someone shed light on how long after by pass you still experiencing pain? I am assuming it's still early

Extreme fatigue
Hi all :) Oh it's so lovely and comforting to hear words of positivity from.people in the same boat ♥️ My dad had very unexpected quadruple heart bypass surgery on 22nd. He's now home and staying with my sister. He's usually a very active 62 year old and is very very down in the dumps and extremely fatigued

On going discomfort
After heart attack in Sept and stent fitting my husband has what he classes as discomfort in his chest. He's had it since heart attack and mentioned it to both Cardio and own G.P but they don't seem overly concerned(I even rang an ambulance 1 day, they did ecg and said it wasn't his heart) he's waiting

Back to work?
I’m seven weeks post CABG and feeling great. I’m in well paid high pressure IT job and am feeling some ‘guilt and anxiety’ about not having opened the Laptop yet. I just don’t feel ready in my head yet to jump in. My work very supportive and not exerting any pressure but I just don’t want to feel
