Greetings. Almost 2 years ago I had a heart attack. I had a stent fitted and all has been well. The only slight concern is seem to loose my sense of balance and bump into things. I am taking one 3.75 tablet of Bisoprolol a day.

Do you check your BP at home. Often it is lower there than in the GP's consulting room! You may have borderline hypotension!

I think my blood pressure is fine thanks. I check it regularly at home.

Hi Philealing

I renetly started to take Bisoprolol once a day in the morning, after only three days when i got out of bed i felt very giddy and so i checked my blood pressure and pulse and both had dropped quite a bit, i phoned my GP and was told to stop taking it, no problems since that day.

Hi, I don't know if this applies to you but when I was attending cardio rehab sessions I was quite perplexed that when it came to balance exercises we were all SHOCKING! Our instructor used to say 'I said stand on one leg not hop around the room'

I asked after class one day how our hearts had affected our balance??? She explained that our hearts hadn't but the time resting/recovering, not exercising, recuperating from any illness in fact can affect balance. She said balance is very much a 'if you don't use it you lose it' scenario and its something that affects us as we get older & less active too. I try to keep up some of my cardio exercises, I started standing on one leg with an arm on a wall for support & gradually built on this, my balance is now back to normal. In fact at the weekend I joined a zoom yoga class with family and when we balanced one of my sons actually said 'Wow are you actually doing that mum or are you cheating?! 😂 I was doing it 🙏🏼 Hope this may help.

Hi Philealing! Sorry to hear that, I had stents in August 20. After that same balance issues like you are having, although I don't bump into things but still can't take risk to drive as I have feeling of off balance like a after a long boat or train ride. Doctors don't have any answers and I am so fed up of this silly situation.Plz let me know if you find any reason/ cure/ remedy for it. My doctor prescribed SERC but thats not helping at all so I sm not taking it anymore. Will be looking forward to hear from you.

I had a brain tumour removed five years ago and as a result one of my balance nerves was cut. I recovered my sense of balance remarkably quickly and wondered if this is simply a set back following that. After my HA I was in an induced coma for a month and that couldn’t have helped either

Check with your GP if you can take it at night before bed. I did and it works a treat.
