Minor Aortic calcification and 1st Degree Heart Block
Advised by cardiologist no need to flag these on travel insurance.? Ummm not sure that's wise, no related symptoms or medication. He says this doesn't constitute aortic stenosis and heart block is benign. Have declared my CVD and stent and all medications. Don't want to over state my conditions but

Hi there, I have a week holiday booked for Spain, leaving U.K. next Saturday 11/6-18/6. Looking at quotes for travel insurance. I had an angiogram and one stent fitted November 2021. Since told I have a moderately leaky aortic valve. Just need an annual echo to check if it progresses (next Echo due March

Train travel
I’m 6 months post 3x CABG and have just done a long train journey to visit my daughters. I’ve recovered so well from the surgery that I thought ‘I can do this’. At Crewe, due to delay with 1st train, I had 4 minutes to catch my next train, no time to wait for the lift, so I legged it up and over the

Possible GCA.
I had cataracts surgery March 15 the left eye, March 29th right eye. Within a few days of the second surgery my headaches started. Never prone to any headaches. I have PMR. Started on prednisolone 15mls. 45mg. about a year ago. High dose because of gastric bypass. Only got relief at high dose.

Ureteral stricture after transplant with no success after attempting stent and ballooning
Hello:) I just had my third kidney transplant in December. I had multiple pre transplant day long meetings to decide the best option for me having a third transplant and it was decided my fiance would donate and we would do paired exchange as a live donor and planned transplant would be for the best

Thoughts on my pain issue
I was diagnosed in Jan 2021 with PMR and have dropped from 20 mg prednisone to 4mg. Initially I had pain in many places. for the past 3-4 months I only have issues with pain or tightness in my pelvis/hips and shoulders. My last visit to my Rheumy on May 2nd I was trying to get to 3.5 mg and was not

Does Heart Bypass Cock Up Heart Rate Monitors?
I have always had a HRM on my bike which senses heart rate from my chest band. However, since my bypass there is no signal being received. Is this a thing after heart surgery?!

CABG Off Pump Lungs
I am due a double CABG next month (Happy New Year?!). It is Off Pump so my heart won't stop (hopefully). But.... what happens to my lungs, do they keep going?

Should I ask for a echocardiogram?
I'm in A &E at the moment having started with short, sharp chest pains early this morning. My first lot of bloods come back ok, troponin just 6, awaiting results of second trop result. I had Nstemi, angiogram and stent fitted December last year. Pain was nothing like I had today. I've been back to A

Struggling to exercise
Hi, I had a heart attack a year ago with a stent, and had an echocardiogram a few weeks ago and just got a letter 2 days ago telling me I had basal inferior hypokinesis (whatever that is!). I had no cardiac classes just phone calls due to covid. I started exercise at home with the best of intentions

What a ride
Hello all, I've been browsing this forum recently and there's so much warmth and advice given that I'd like to share my story and hopefully receive some reassurance/advice in return. I'm a 44 year-old man who's a single father to a beautiful 14 year-old daughter. The last few years have not been kind

Ciprofloxacin Horror!
I don’t know where to start. I had been taking this drug for over a year until two days ago when I stopped it myself. I was prescribed it last April while in hospital with ARLD and alcohol hepatitis. I was very poorly and since recovered from it. My first blood tests after discharge were normal but

Completely beat physically and emotionally
At the age of 45 I experienced intermittent chest pain (even when at rest), sweats, headaches and fatigue. I was sent packing from A&E as tests were normal. I saw a cardiologist privately and they found a critical blockage of my LAD. I was reassured that I was fixed with a stent and all my risks were

poisoned by statins
I have now come to the conclusion that instead of getting the correct treatment for my heart problem I have been given a higher dosage of statins that is causing me more harm. I believe that my diagnosis should be treated with a stent or a bypass. I have three siblings , two have had heart attacks and

Advanced PCa & Kidney Disease
I'm getting a CT scan soon to follow up on my ADT failure. They are concerned that there may be sign of kidney disease. It seems like it's relatively common in PCa warriors, so I'm presuming people have experience. I just checked on the kidney disease symptoms and I seem to have most of them. My onco
