Just to say I'm not going anywhere!!
Hi all, I've seen a few posts on here from people saying that they are leaving due to posts they don't agree with, I wonder how these folk cope in "real life" with people whose views on life differ from theirs? I've only been a member for 5 months, I joined in a panic one night to express my feelings

any advice gratefully received
Waiting time for a stent . i had an angiogram 2 weeks ago after exhausting all other tests to find out why i have a mumur and LBBB. The result which they told me at the time was 80% blockage in LAD . I have just had a call from cardiolgist to say that after discussing my case a stent would be advisable

Balloon but no stent
So a question: A friend has just had an HA with primary PCI (so suffered a STEMI i guess) but has just had balloon angioplasty without a stent for treatment. Reading up this seems uncommon with 80% of cardiac angioplasty procedures appatently resulting in a stent emplacement. I ended up with 6 stents

Heart friendly multivitamins
Hi all, so I’d normally take a daily multivitamin. Hadn’t given any thought into whether I should or not since the Angiogram and stent. Transpires as I’m on antiplatelet medication, I shouldn’t be taking Iron or Vitamin K (contraindications). This advice came from a Pharmacist. Instead I’ve bought these

Bp advice
Hi all, I am a little concerned about my BP. It's slowly getting higher, today's reading was 157/79. I am also hearing my heart beating in my right ear all the time which is a little unsettling. I have contacted my GP, currently only can do so via an online request form which can take up to 48 hours

Coeliac disease, Heart failure and now chronic kidney disease. Help with diet needed.
Hi all, I,m 63, I had a stent fitted after HA in Oct 2020 and I have LVSD ,mild to moderate heart failure. I have now been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease 3 (mild to moderate), I also have coeliac disease. I am becoming very anxious about the CKD because after doing a bit of research I have to

Psychological support after CABG
I was wondering how I can help my husband to get over the trauma of what he went through. He just had a bypass at 42 years and this is making him realise how limited his life span is. I know he tries to be positive, but he cannot help but think about what he thinks is his "impending doom" . He said that

Unsteady on feet and getting pressure headaches-do you think it is Bisoprolol?
HI, I had a stent fitted the beginning of December and was put on Ramipril, Bisoprolol, Isosorbide Mononitrate, Atorvastatin, Clopidogrel & Aspirin (and Lansoprazole for reflux). In the last 3 weeks or so I have started to feel unsteady on my feet. This tends to go away if I walk for a few minutes,

Medications side effects continue
Hello everyone, I hope your weekend is going well. I am now nearing 6 months post CABG x 4 and still struggling with nausea and vomiting from some of the meds. I was changed to Clopidogrel from Ticegrelor, and am also on Nebivolol. I can’t tolerate the statin tablet so that is an ongoing conversation

BLOOD Pressure concern
My BP has been very low 99/61 pulse 51, following da 116/62 pulse 49. I am taking Rosuvastatin 40mg. I take this at 5 pm. Prior to my heart attack I never had any issue with BP as I was always on the lower side. I have read that it may be to high a dose, and also that taking this medication with food

Sleepless night.
Sleepless night. Hi everyone had 3 HA last year and one stent fitted in September. My Angina is under control but my LV hasnt improved with my meds. My Cardiologist has suggested a defibrillator be fitted so I am now waiting to hear from that Consultant. However last night was awful regarding my breathing

I am still having difficulties with my food
Well it's been about 5 months since my 3x and stent & I am hoping to get back to work next month. I still have the painful shoulders and going for an X-ray next week- as these steroid injections didn't really help - otherwise I feel great, out walking everyday and enjoying my new life and appreciating

Hi all, So my heart attack was on the 21st Dec last year , is it normal that im still waiting to be contacted by the rehab team and that I dont have any follow up appointments as of yet ? Kind of feel like I had the heart attack, had the stent fitted and was sent on my way to work it all out myself

Vasculitis vs arteriosclerosis, getting pregnant after a CABG and statin/diet questions!
Hi! I’m 34 and have just had a CABG, I’m 6 weeks post op and feel almost back to normal. Yes, I know, I’m young and have bounced! They think that my coronary arteries were damaged by vasculitis I (might) have had when I was 19, it wasn’t diagnosed at the time as I had just classic viral symptoms although

Stent info
Stents. I read a lot about people needing stents after an HA.. I would love to know why i didn't. The doc said that my heart muscle was not damaged. I think i was a bit numb or shocked after the event and didn't ask any questions. It has left me with angina. Sorry for the ignorance re stents

Aspirin doseage
I have taken aspirin and Clopidogrel since my HA and CABG last May. I buy aspirin, save the NHS a few pennies, and I inadvertently bought 300mg instead of 75mg. 🤷♀️ So this morning I broke one in half and took 150mg (I tried quarters but ended up with crumbs 😂) I can’t get to the shops until Monday

Returning to work
Hi all.. I had a heart attack just after Christmas and a day later had a stent fitted. The heart attack I think was several before I got to hospital. After a week I was discharged with a bag of medication. I am a single dad with a 12 year old son. I’m not young though and I have no help. I felt very
