My BP has been very low 99/61 pulse 51, following da 116/62 pulse 49. I am taking Rosuvastatin 40mg. I take this at 5 pm. Prior to my heart attack I never had any issue with BP as I was always on the lower side. I have read that it may be to high a dose, and also that taking this medication with food is not good if you tend low BP. I have 1 stent last January 2021 after a heart attack. I am wear my fit bit to see if the reading is differant than my BP machine. I called my Doctor cannot see her till mid March?

99/61 is not very low BP, it is the lower end of normal, but still classed as normal!
Do you suffer any symptoms and are statins the only meds you take?
A BP of 100/60 is on the lower end of normal. Doubt if any GP will be concerned.
Hi Chipmonks,
"Could" be a result of the statin or more possibly to something like a beta-blocker if you are taking one (or more).
Sounds like something that you need to talk about with either your GP or your Cardiologist.
I am no medical expert, but I would be on the phone first thing Monday.
YOGI.
I take my rouvestatin in a morning . If I take it at night I can't sleep because of really bad night mares and I get cramp in my calfs. So Gp said I could take it morning and lowered dose to 10 mg from 20 she said as long as I take it does not matter what time its better then not taking it at all
Hi, I had a HA in end Oct and have been on the standard 6-8 medications. My BP was always on the lower side before the HA and since then my BP is around 93-99/65-69. I have been visiting a cardiologist privately since and he was not concerned with this level. His view was as long as I don't feel dizzy or light headed its fine and this level is expected.
