Zytiga and prednisone holiday.
Hello fellow warriors. My Dr has given me a break from the Zytiga and prednisone based on excellent results from earlier radiation treatment this year. I am experiencing severe migraines the past few days since I stopped taking 5 days ago. I’m assuming there has to be some side effects and the migraine

ok guys it seems I may have waited a bit too long.. latest MRI shows 9mm lesion, 1.5mm EPE certain, right apex.. Last biopsy Oct 2019 G3+4=7 (30% 4) I would imagine a biopsy at this stage will indicate increased agressiveness so I plan to move straight to treatment. This moves me into stage T3a and

Has anyone had vertebroplasty?
My mom will be doing SBRT radiation therapy on her 2 tumors on her spine (t2 and l4 regions). Her radiologist said she spoke with a neurosurgeon who suggested that she do vertebroplasty in case the bone were to collapse from the radiation. I've heard that this is a pretty invasive procedure, and wanted

Friday's Oncology consultation.
A little confusion cleared up, it has however ended with an unexpected revalation. I was a little concerned with the last consultation in September. Although good news that the large nodule had not turned out to be malignant I was told that it was scarring that had been picked up instead, and the Registrar

Impact of High-Dose Rate and Low-Dose Rate Brachytherapy Boost in Patients Receiving External Beam Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer https://www.practiceupdate.com/c/110641/67/11/ My read of it is that side effects are more severe when Brachy and EBR are combined, It is a new study (December 2019

Target PSA value?
In July this year my PSA was 380, I had severe spinal decompression T2-T4 and had never done the hormone blockers but had a history of going through radiation therapy twice and also some low dose chemo. I got spinal compressive surgery Aug. 1 and was started on lupron + enzalutamide (Xtandi). Since

FDA has approved Relugolix (Orgovyx) for advanced PCa.
"The approval of the GnRH receptor antagonist is based on data from the phase 3 HERO study, which showed that 96.7% of patients randomized to relugolix maintained castration through 48 weeks, compared with 88.8% of patients receiving leuprolide (P <.001).1 The benefit with relugolix was sustained across

Insurance denying coverage for Radiation
Last spring I was diagnosed with prostate cancer: Gleason 10 on all cores, with single bone met and one swollen lymph. PSA of 22. Immeidately put on hormone therapy shots. After 6 treatments of taxotere over basically 18 weeks, scans showed "no evidence of osseous metastatic disease" and lymphs normal

A marathon? Me ?
I have just spoken to my brother and he wants me to support him by running the Brighton marathon with him next year 😱 He’s recovering from radio therapy and is really struggling so I guess I’m going to have to do it. I really truly hate the idea of a marathon but I can’t let him down. It’ll be a challenge

Just Diagnosed with T4N1 Ductal Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate
I am a 68 year old male, recently diagnosed with prostate cancer which is apparently a rare Ductal type. I always had a normal PSA and negative DRE until I had a kidney stone and my PSA jumped to 7.9. My doctor decided that the PSA score was elevated due to the kidney stone and the effect of antibiotics

Understanding the differences in types of radiation and why the ORIOLE Trial showed SBRT to be effective for Oligometastatic patients
Hello FPC crew, Not to be confused with 2 Live Crew...Recently, a post appeared on another forum discounting radiation for oligometastatic patients with bone metastasis as having no survival benefit... The study that was listed used EBRT, so needless to say, it is important to understand the differences

All Clear
I am delighted to be able to report that the chemotherapy and radiotherapy I had to shrink my tumour before operation has had a remarkable effect. From the outset my surgeon gave me a 5% chance that it would disappear and that is what has happened. No need for an operation, only regular follow up scans
