Rationale for blind radiation to the bed of the prostate
Wife would like to ask what the rationale is for SRT without a biopsy or any kind of imaging. My psa went from .08 on 1/17/22 after almost 3 years of undetectable psa.. Most recent psa was .21 on 8/5/22. Urologist encouraged to have radiation therapy to the bed as original gleason score was 8 on

Bill Turnbull Prostate Cancer
watched BBC breakfast, good that encouraging men to get tested. May I add warning - my late husband had 14 year battle with prostate cancer, but also with NHS. Our local hospital wouldn’t do anything as his PSA reading was low, even though it’s known to be unreliable. When eventually sent for radiotherapy

Lumpectomy and CKD with eGFR 23%
I am due to have a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node removal using radioactive dye. My eGFR is only 23%. After the operation I am due to have radiation therapy. Has anyone else had this done and do you know if the radiation or dye will lower my eGFR of 23%. I am very worried at the moment as I don't

radium 223
I am 6 years into stage 4 prostate cancer. Have had SOC treatment in UK. Best PSA was 0.08 about 2 years ago. Since then have had bicalutimide, enzalutimide some localised radiotherapy for back pain. Also been on cabazitaxel, which eventually failed. I am now into my 2nd. treatment of radium 223. So

So pleased to be running again
I was diagnosed with early onset breast cancer in March, after two surgeries, and catching Covid in between, I managed a couple of short runs in July, and completed my radiotherapy in early August, and last week I managed three runs, 2km, 2.25km and 3km, but it is so good to be back, with my husband

Best Surgeon for an Acoustic Neuroma
Hello everyone. I found this forum and it looks like it could be of real help. 4 years ago my wife was diagnosed with an AN and, following 6-8 months of monitoring, was given radiotherapy (at Addenbrookes) to treat it. To cut a very long story short, she has suffered distessing symptoms ever since

Dad has lung cancer
My dads diagnosed stage 3 today and said he wouldn’t be able to have treatment as chemo would make him really ill and surgery Isn’t an option due to being 7cm and in lymph nodes. I think I sort of expected he wouldn’t be ok for treatment as he is only 7.5 stone and has severe spine curvature, osteoporosis

Brain mets.
Has anyone here survived 3 months after radiotherapy on a NSCLC met to the brain? I'm concerned with my wife's prognosis as she has memory problems.

Finished my 20 sessions of radiotherapy (60 grey in total ) in mid July . Areas targeted were prostrate, lymph nodes, seminal vesicles and small pelvic bone met. While the water works are almost back to normal the fatigue is awful still . Was wondering does targeting so many areas at once increase

stage 4 small cell cancer
My brother has been diagnosed with cancer 8 months ago. He initially had radiotherapy and chemo. He responded well. The cancer was deemed to difficult to operate on. Since then he was told the cancer has spread to his adrenal glands. This time he was given targeted radiotherapy. Again he responded.
