“My name is Tony Brent. In 2017 I was diagnosed with skin cancer, I was 59 years old. The skin cancers I have been diagnosed with are Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Basal Cell Carcinoma.

Over the last five years, I have lost count of the number of trips to and from the hospital. But I can tell you I have had: 5 painful operations, 4 radiotherapies, one round of chemotherapy and at the moment I'm on Immunotherapy.

LIFE CHANGING

This has totally changed my life. I can no longer work; We have had to sell the family home; We are now on benefits and have had to use the local food banks; The operations have changed my appearance; and has totally turned my life upside down... I share this as, if by telling one person, who has a pimple who thinks they should get it looked at, gets it looked at...

I have now been told it's terminal, with approximately one year to live.

SKYDIVING FOR SKIN

I did a skydive after my first op for SKCIN charity, and raised £1,285!!

It was an amazing experience and meant a lot to me to raise that kind of money for the charity’s work. Given my new prognosis, I have decided to do it again, and raise even more…

I'm Skydiving on SEPTEMBER 25th (weather permitting) and would be incredibly grateful of your support in helping me raise vital funds for this important cause”.

Thank you.

Thank you Tony for sharing your truly inspirational story and for supporting the work of Skcin.

People often underestimate non-melanoma skin cancer and by sharing your story, you are raising much needed awareness that can save lives.

Sending love and gratitude to you and your family.
