Life After Colectomy - Colon Resection
Hello. Can anyone tell me realistically their experience after colectomy- colon resection surgery? I have been offered a left hemicolectomy and want to know what the true recovery is. Surgeons are minimizing the recovery and say once healed you will probably not notice anything. I have a hard time

How morphine affects sedatives when having hospital treatment
I have a
colostomy
and I had to have a colonoscopy this week I was given pethidine. I found the procedure very painful and was told it was because I take morphine for chronic pain. This worries me in case I need emergency treatment where I will need pain management.

acute diverticulitis and impending surgery
Fine had before can live with that.however as this is my 3rd hospital admission surgeon told me to seriously think about a
colostomy
bag, gave me 12 weeks to think. surely discuss after colonoscopy? It's a major operation and a life changing one at that.

Mini pill
(Needing bowel surgery scares me as my mum has a
colostomy
bag). He also re mentioned coil but I worry about that not agreeing and not being able to get it out quickly! Anyway back to pill. For those that have tried noriday, how long did it take to settle?

APeR surgery and colostomy bag
hi I am due for surgery for rectal cancer in which I will need a permanent
colostomy
and possibly rectal excision. Understandably I am struggling to come to terms with diagnosis and surgery needed.

Fallopian tubes tethered to bowel (adhesion post laparoscopy for PID) Is surgery the only option?
Colostomy
bag for life isn’t a great prospect, but neither is infection in my abdomen and Fallopian tubes. Anyone experienced this? Anyone gone down the surgery route? Did anyone’s Fallopian tubes become free and magically return to normal after a period of time? Would love to hear from you!

Crohns, UC, Ustekinumab, Proctitis, Operation
such as Ustekinumab when I’ve had a skin cancer but do not want to cause my problems to worsen to a point where I have to have operations (which so far I’ve avoided) Firstly I wondered if anyone has had an operation due to rectal inflammation and narrowing, what did this involve and was a permanent

CANCER REMISSION: Trial Using Monoclonal Antibody Finds Remission in Every Patient: New England Journal of Medicine
Typically, such cancer patients would have needed to undergo often debilitating treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery, and in extreme cases be fitted with

Help! Decapeptyl injection and HRT?
I have been offered a Decapeptyl 3month injection and HRT, and been told the laparoscopy waiting list is at least 6months+; but there’s a lot of risks for a lap because my bowel is stuck to my womb (been told I could end up with an ileostomy or
colostomy
bag!)

How do you get independent medical advice!
I could end up with a
colostomy
bag (highly likely at this point) and also a bag to drain my kidneys! So I have deeply infiltrative Endometriosis which has currently consumed an entire ovary! No ovary is seen independent of this cyst! This ovary is attached to my bowel!

Living with Endo.
If I had surgery to remove this, then I could end up with a
colostomy
bag and a full hysterectomy. I tried IVF 5 times but no eggs, i then tried IVF with donor eggs all top grade but no pregnancy at all.

Embarrassing bowel question 🫣
I have my lap in 4 weeks so I will know what is happening for sure but I am worried about this because of
colostomy
bags ect. I feel so silly for even thinking that far ahead but it's so painful and it just hurts and it feels really lonely! Does anyone experience the same sort of thing?

After a long spell with ulcerative colitis, she was faced with surgery and the life-changing operation which gave her a
colostomy
to get used to. Then when we spoke on the phone during the week, she told me she was also undergoing breast cancer treatment.
