Late diagnosis of asbestosis
My Dad is 96 and has had progressive lung disease for many years. He's a non-smoker and I always wondered about the cause. On 16 October this year he was referred to a respiratory consultant for the first time. She took a detailed work history (again, the first one to do so) and we realised just how

CYSTOSCOPY NEGATIVE August 2023
Hey Ladies and Gents. The urologist/oncologist says we can stop the monthly chemo infusions since my urinary bladder looks free of any neoplasm. And next April (2024), if it holds, I’ll be cancer free for three years and can get back on the lung transplant list. “Let your last thinks all be thanks

Tagrisso vs Erlotinib
Hi All, Dad had results of liquid biopsy and EGFR positive, Oncologist has recommended Erlotinib ( NHS treatment). We understand that his diagnosis T4 N2 M0 is non curative but trying to balance quality of life and length; chemo and a standard biopsy were deemed not tolerable for my 89 yr old dad. Silly

Happy Monday 😊
Good morning all, well after finally getting an appointment with the Chest clinic at the hospital, after my phoned appointment was cancelled four times. I got to see a specialist. I have had COPD for years now, taken lots of different inhalers. The specialist told me I have severe COPD, and told Trimbow

saving my dad
Hi all! My dad was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He is only 64 years old and last year this same time he was in great health! Drs are unsure if it’s IPF or another severe form of pulmonary fibrosis. He had a lung biopsy that came back inconclusive. He relies on full time oxygen and coughs

BIOMARKER TESTING
My wife has extensive small cell lung cancer (SCLC-E) and has undergone chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy. Her lung tumor is currently stable and I want to get options if her current immunotherapy (atezolizumab every three weeks) becomes ineffective. There are several chemotherapy options
