When living with cancer, knowing what impact the disease is having on a your life is essential if you are to receive the best care. Your Health Companion is a free specialist app specifically designed for people who have been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. It is much like a private digital diary, that enables you to record how you are feeling, your quality of life and the symptoms you are experiencing, and keep track of expenses connected with your diagnosis/treatment.

By enabling you to keep an accurate record in one central place, you can monitor accurately any changes in your wellbeing. This empowers you to share this information with healthcare professionals, so together they can better understand how they can help you manage your illness and symptoms.

A good idea although I've found both my GP and respiratory consultant aren't interested when I tell them about significant changes in my health characteristics (O2 levels, heart rate etc) from my Apple Watch that I've had for 2.5 years. Both say 'well they're not accurate you know!" Unsure if they've told Apple as their ECG capability on the watch is claimed to be as accurate as a healthcare one! What's useful about devices and even paper diaries is the timeline as often when we see a clinician and it may have been weeks or months since we last saw them, we are often only remember detail from recent weeks and the rest is forgotten or hazy whereas apps/diaries are an accurate reflection in real time.
