Should steroids clear exacerbation symptoms in COPD flare up?
I was a heavy smoker and it took me until two years ago to give up, after a
collapsed
lung
and surgical procedure. I've been lucky not to have had extreme symptoms and have managed to exercise regularly, daily walks and three classes of Chi Kung a week.

Collapsed lung symptoms?
If you had a
collapsed

....would it be obvious to you that something is wrong?

Cutting a short story long
I was transported to the A&E department of our local hospital, and from there to a
lung
ward in the hospital. My left
lung
had apparently
collapsed
under the pressure what turned out to be about 4 litres of fluid in the pleural sac. Now for the funny bit.

Big week, big challenges
Next weekend I'm walking from Camber Sands to Margate as I look to take on the Big 100. 65+ miles over two days isn't going to be easy but I'm really looking forward to the challenge which will also be a good test for my lungs. It'll also be really good for me, mentally. The pneumothorax really hit

To Those with Experience with Immunotherapy
Would you please take just a few minutes of your time to complete the Lung Cancer Registry's Immunotherapy Survey? It provides very important information to researchers and oncologists - information that can only come from those of us who are being treated or have been treated with one of the immunotherapy

Immunotherapy could be less effective for women with cancer than for men
Am not a betting person AT all but in this article WELL this only one bad boy/girl I can think of AND that’s that ******* estrogen.

Mum's stage 4 diagnosis
Last Monday my mum was diagnosed with a non-specific stage 4 lung cancer. I say non-specific as the consultant does not want to put her through a bronchoscopy as he has suggested that whilst it will reveal the type of cancer she has, it won't ultimately change anything in terms of treatment. We've been

Stage 4 adenocarcinom
He also has a plural effusion and the
lung
is
collapsed
. We were told that the tumors were massive and that it was also in the lining of his lung as well as all the lymph nodes tested. We were told he was not a candidate for surgery or radiation but were not told why.
