ALK positive - Alectinib or Crizotinib?
Hello! My mum has been newly diagnosed as having ALK positive lung cancer, with brain mets. The NHS oncologist we are seeing wants to prescribe Crizotinib but I have been reading that Alectinib is now the new standard for first line treatment. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated - is it the

Waiting to be staged
My name is SteveO. I am 72 and in pretty good shape, so I thought. That’s until an X-ray showed a mass in my upper left lung. Biopsy confirmed cancer. Another spot on PET. Me more biopsy then stage and treatment plan. I’m encouraged by hearing from others successes . Thanks and God Bless

Worried about silicosis
I'm new here and concerned, worried, paranoid, call it what you will. 5days ago I cut a 2m channel in a plaster wall wfor some cables with an angle grinder. I did have a small paper mask but in hindsight it was not appropriate. There was dust everywhere. I showered straight after the work but since then

mesothelioma - anyone tried Opdivo or Yervoy?
Hello I am looking for some advice on mesothelioma, I know there is no hope, but maybe I can at least alleviate my dad's condition - he is short of breath, extremely weak and has chest and arm pain. I read about Opdivo/ Yervoy immune therapy (I believe nivolumab and ipilimumab are the exact drug names

Secrets of lung cancer spread found in patients' blood and biopsies.
Early signs that a patient’s lung cancer may spread and become untreatable can be picked up in samples of their blood and tumour, according to a trio of papers published in Nature Medicine today (Monday). “Thanks to these findings we know much more about how lung cancer changes, spreads and evades treatment

Newly diagnosed with IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis)
Had a chest Xray last week and was told this morning this is what I have - amount of
collapsed
lung
has increased especially in left lung. GP told me this is 'scaring of the lungs'. From previous gynae operations I have very extensive 'bowel adhesions' - which is scar tissue.

Living with Bronchiectasis
I have Bronchiectasis, a
collapsed

, copd, dextacardia, gerd, and pulmonary hypertension w/o exacerbation (whatever that is). I was denied a ling transplant twice because since I had surgery to repair a partially formed esophagus made my anatomy too risky. Too unique.
