Made to feel ashamed
I'm sorry if this is insignificant but I have just had a 'health review ' at my local doctors and made to feel ashamed and embarrassed and absolutely awful about myself.I have liver cirrhosis, I was ill November 2022 and had numerous scans and it was confirmed by a fibro scan. It scared the hell out

on going heartburn with esophagitis
I have had an endoscopy that found chronic eosphogstis. I have tried three PPIs ie omeprozole, lanzopropal and the one something like esomprozole. Other than watching what you eat and drink , have you found any natural solutions like peppermint oil or the like. Tried ginger, slippery elm but no relief

liver pain in side. Terrified
I am a heavy drinker who had a scare earlier this year where I was told I had reversible liver damage. I was sober for a month and bloods improved. I foolishly slipped back to my old ways of very heavy daily drinking and now have pain in my right side. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow and can’t see how

Is APS hereditary?
I'm just wondering because my dad's keeping getting these nose bleeds and it's just not stopping. He's just had an operation to cut the artery and doc said that will be the end of nose bleeds. Well it's not. He's got what looks like clots coming out of his nose. So I've said maybe mention me with APS

Bad cold sore should I wait to inject Methotrexate?
I was at the dentist last Thursday - not my usual one - and she was a bit rough! She split my lip in the corner and it's came out with large cold sores which are not healing! 😔 I'm considering not injecting today to give them a better chance to heal - what do you think? They're sore and I can't eat

asthmatic response to new rug made in India
I bought a new, woollen rug shortly before Christmas 2023. It immediately caused me to go from being virtually free of asthma symptoms to being in need of steroid inhaler and frequent ventolin doses - I was very short of breath, my lungs were irritated and when exercising, swimming or walking, I’d

When to take Carvedilol?
Hi there, I haven't posted anything for here for a while - but do read other's stories and experiences which is often very helpful - so thank you! I am now taking 12.5mg of carvedilol per day - taking one in the morning and one at night before going to bed - I often feel the morning dose leaves me

worried about the future
at what stage of liver cirrhosis, might you need a transplant? does anyone have any experience of an iron infusion? how serious is cirrhosis of the liver and is it a terminal illness; am I going to die? sorry for the questions but I can’t sleep and my brain is whirling around . I’m usually quite positive

Olive oil guys… in a dark can… best you can afford. My ontological perspective..:I’ve always seen that OL and fish/ oil as medicine. My own researcher bias; my own HDL is now over 2 and I eat a supper every night full of crap.

CBD gel
Just an update regarding my experience using CBD gel for my knee pains. It did absolutely nothing to relieve the pain which I thought was arthritis but it appears it’s just joint pains possibly being caused by Apixaban which I won’t be stopping any time soon. Although you are not supposed to take anti

Painful toes - mother with CBD
My mum has CBD, and whilst still able to walk, has decreased mobility and has been suffering from painful toes, initially from chilblains, but still complaining of discomfort months later. Is this a symptom of CBD? I’ve been (unsuccessfully) trying to find comfortable and supportive shoes but nothing

CBD diagnosis
After 4 years of pushing him, pushing for tests and watching a 6 foot plus ex Royal Navy football/rugby player fall, loose the use of his right hand and leg, loose the ability of speech he finally had a fall and was admitted to hospital. I chose, rightly or wrongly to push for more tests and 8 weeks

Running in aid of PSPA
Whilst my husband, Chris, lost his fight with PSP at the end of December 2019, our middle grandson James Weston will be running as part of the PSPA team in the London Marathon on 21st March 2024.It would be wonderful if James can get over his target. Any donations will go towards research into this

Fibrosis?
Hi there. Continuing my journey to recovery, I was today told by my doctor that I need to have a blood test to see if I have any scarring of the liver. My LFT’s are better than they were in June last year. An ultrasound in August 23 noticed a fatty liver. So, can you still get scarring of the liver

Could I have portal hypertension
Looking for any advice please. Not sure if I need to seek a second opinion from another Gastroenterologist. I had symptoms that could point to Cirrhosis or stages leading up to that. URQ pain, fatigue, malaise, GI issues with poor absorption (streatosis looking stools) and bloating, weight loss, shortness
