Painful toes - mother with CBD

PeterPanandLostBoys profile image

My mum has CBD, and whilst still able to walk, has decreased mobility and has been suffering from painful toes, initially from chilblains, but still complaining of discomfort months later. Is this a symptom of CBD? I’ve been (unsuccessfully) trying to find comfortable and supportive shoes but nothing seems to work. She struggles to communicate so it’s difficult to know what’s wrong.

Has anyone any experience of this? Many thanks for any advice.

It could be because of muscle contractions. Can you see any distortion like foot twisting or toes pointing the wrong way? My mum had this very late on in her disease but I'm sure it could happen earlier for some. Massage helped a little.

Have you tried topical pain medications? There are some with lidocaine available over the counter here. This may not be helpful, but I suffer from arthritis in my hands and toes and I have found cannabis salve massaged in helps with the pain and inflammation. I’m in the US and I get it from a local maker, so I can’t advise a source for you, sorry.

Something to keep in mind, though, is that, unfortunately, having CBD or PSP doesn’t ward off other ailments; that is, not every symptom will be caused by the primary disease.

I hope you can find something that works. Watching a loved one suffer is awful; when they can’t speak, it’s the worst.
