GP’s and meds (Losartan and Lercanadipine) !!
I despair! the surgery advised me on Monday that they thought the Losartan was causing a decrease in my sodium level (127). They suggested I try Lercanadipine instead. I took the first one this morning and my pulse rate went mad all morning and my BP dropped quite a bit. I contacted the surgery &

Trazadone & CKD & Gfr dropping
My
ckd
has went from a gfr of 45 to 32 in a years time. Kidney disease is heriditary in my family, and I generally eat well, exercise and hydrate. I'm just looking for the culprit. I see my neph every 6 months and have been diagnosed for 5 years.

Effect of exercise on thyroid blood tests?
Just wondering, what effect have people noticed on their blood tests if exercising the day before/same day/other time? SlowDragon has previously shared that the ideal time for thyroid blood tests is just before 9am, and I'm wondering if exercising should also be taken into account? https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Low blood pressure
I have GCA with Takayasu Arteritis. I am taking Clopidogrel/ Atorvastatin/ Bisoprolol/ Tocilizumab (3 monthly), yesterday my blood pressure was 92/80. It was taken at the hospital as the doctor’s surgery can’t find it, or my pulse. I emailed my Dr with the result, and she rang me today. I told her I

I often wonder how much simple actions are under rated and by how many in our highly accessible procedure/drug world.
Are you doing some basics to strengthen your heart beat (check with your medic first)? Eg. Daily brisk walks for 1 mile+ Light weight training with dumbbells Nose breathing (day & night) to increase nitric oxide to heart Co Q10 supplement Works for me with no known side effects! 😁

Anyone ever regurgitate something you ate the day before?
I get burning throughout my whole GI, shortness of breath, loose stool, regurgitation and a whole bunch of other symptoms irresponsive to medication. Sometimes I can regurgitate something like a bit of carrot or mushroom a full day after I've had it. I had a teaspoon of seeds yesterday, 16hours late

I just spoke with my doctors nurse and it shows you can always learn new things and you can also mess things up. Lol. I hadn’t mentioned much about being a little bit nervous regarding my new pacemaker. The past two days my heart rate has been up. I am set for 80. I have noticed, and I know that my

Hi Everyone, I’m a newbie
I’m female mid seventies and have angina and a GT spray. I get severe chest pains but only when resting. I was to have day surgery a few weeks ago to remove an anal polyp which might be cancerous but despite having a thorough pre op assessment, the anaesthetist said I could not be treated unless a bed

Vitamin D - daily dose?
when I was first diagnosed with PBC my Vit D levels were low so had a high dose supplement which brought levels up to normal range. Bone density scan was OK. With general vitamin supplement and cod liver oil in winter months I take 10 microg of Vit D. I would be interested to hear how much anyone else

Lupus Anticoagulant testing while on Warfarin
I have searched the group but I do not seem to find what I need to know. If your hematologist insist on testing for Lupus Anticoagulant how many days must you stop warfarin before the test? The hematologist says that the DVRTT test works without stopping Warfarin. But I have read many times that while

Atrial Tachycardia ablation coming up
I’m going in once again for another ablation. The 3rd one finally finished off the afib. But they couldn’t trigger the atrial tachycardia. Since it’s become even more frequent since the last ablation, I decided to give it another go. Dreading it even more than normal since our local hospital has stopped

PV and silent afib
Previously, no issues with my heart and prior to December 2022 all ok with all tests; no artery disease or stenosis and healthy heart. Out of nowhere, I had my first AFIB episode in December of last year. Restored to NSR in 30 minutes with medication. I have had 2 more, once during a stress test

Third ablation, beta blocker change or something else?
Afternoon all, Looking for a bit of advice, I had my first ablation which was a 5 hour operation Feb 7th 2019! Had to shock me 6 times as well as do the ablation! Eventually put me onto flecainide which kept it in rhythm. I came off flecainide in May 2019, and was ok until July when AFib returned.

Thankyou - re: lidocaine and bisoprolol.
I just wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and advice on an alternative to local anaesthetic Lidocaine for a non dental minor surgery. It seems that nobody has quite had exactly the same reaction as I had with bradycardia and plummeting BP or had a local anaesthetic, apart from lidocaine, for

Goitre and blood test
This is a bit of a long one - Thank you all in advance for your advice. So I have had a goitre for about 12 years - am not on medication and feel fine.. I have been aware it seems to have got bigger over the last few months and I do feel self-conscious about it. It does not affect breathing . I stayed

probiotics and prebiotics
Dear All, Does anyone have a personal experience with pro- or prebiotics supplements and
CKD
? I saw several info online that it may help improve the health and energy level in general and
ckd
in particular. As expected, online info vary very much , you can’t count on it.
