Hi Everyone, Just thought I’d ask here as the help I’ve received on here has been invaluable. Since my Cardioversion in Jan 2022 I have been in a sinus rhythm. I was originally told prior to the Cardioversion that if 6 months after I’m still in a sinus rhythm. I would be able to come off the edoxaban

It's not the adrenals it’s AF!
I kept thinking it was because of my tapering: I was short of breath, felt “chesty” and dizzy. The monitor I wore showed <1% incidence of AF but still at risk for stroke- so Eliquis for me. Scheduled for a visit to the electrophysiology lab for assessment. I believe it’s getting more frequent. Stopped

Hypertension and Amlodipine
Hi, community. I have a (new) diagnosis of hypertension, which means yet another tablet to add to my cocktail. The proposed first line treatment, apparently, is Amlodipine. However, I am wary of this drug, in case it worsens my Erythromelalgia, which is pretty bad anyway, and getting worse all by

Loop recorder (and other feedback)
So, a few weeks ago I passed out while sitting next to my wife - which made her panic. Short version of the story is that the episode was followed by influenza so may have been the beginning of that. Also an ECG I had shortly after passing out was normal. (FYI I am 49 and healthy). But she insisted

PAF - move to PiP only
Hi Can anyone tell me of their experiences of moving from daily medication (Flecainide) to PiP only? Heart attack in 2019, out of the blue - fit & healthy. Investigations - no real culprit - eventually a few months later, after symptoms & further investigations, diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib. Basically

What is Left Atrial Rhythm and is it related to Afib?
I have paroxysmal Afib, which appears to be well managed with Flecainide and Metoprolol. I am having an unrelated medical procedure next week so my anaesthetist sent me for an ECG, which I had to drop back to her office. After getting the ECG done by a nurse at my local GP's rooms, the nurse took the

CBD and everyday tasks
Hi, My mum hasn’t received a formal diagnosis but the neurologist thinks it’s CBD. She struggled to put her bra on and became obsessed over it, practising and talking about it a lot and she relearnt how to do it and now 9 times out of 10 can put it on. Then it was her coat, same thing, obsessing and

To ablate or not to ablate?
I have paroxysmal AF, diagnosed in early 2020, on 5 mg bisoprolol and Edoxaban. I am highly symptomatic when I have an event, with fast heart rate, strong palpitations, heart feeling as though it will escape from my chest, but no dizziness etc. and this can last for up to 12 hours before it reverts

Further evidence that even moderate exercise is good for your long term health - particularly when you have CLL!
I've often observed that our immediate response when we are diagnosed with CLL, is to re-evaluate our diet (good) and look at how we can extend our time before treatment and improve our life expectancy by taking supplements, for which there limited evidence, particularly when it comes to hopes of boosting

Paxlovid and CKD Stage 3a
i was recently diagnosed with covid omicron variant ? I was put on paxlovid for 5 days by my primary care md. I was on the renal dose. and felt much better and was testing negative by the end of the 3rd day. however this medication left a poisonous taste in my mouth and stomach issues (mostly nausea)

Newbie. What do you do?
Hello, New to this. Had my first episode about 6 weeks ago but could have been AF for weeks as no symptoms. Had cardio version put on bisoprolol, apixaban and ramipril. Since then I have had 3 episodes; 2 lasting a couple of hours and this 3rd one is still going on past 5hrs. Decided to take my evening

Annual transplant program appointment
Gratefully, this one had actually read my chart before coming in the room and knew and believed my
CKD
was from ileostomy dehydration. It was the first time I didn't have to play, "educate the doctor." I usually have to explain the difference between an ileostomy and a colostomy and more.

Ablation Done
After much worrying on my part, I had my ablation done at Barts on Friday and I'm not dead yet! Despite the long list of side effects which might have occurred according to the AF Ablation help sheet, all I had was a mild(ish) migraine on the Friday night. No problems with bleeding from the site or indeed

Fitbit vs radial pulse
During my perceived afib episodes of late my Fitbit and oximeter reads much higher than taking my pulse manually. Sometimes the the Fitbit is double the radial rate. So I question if I'm in an afib episode. Is the Fitbit and oximeter wrong? I don't have any other symptoms so it's unclear.

Day 31 The PSP & CBD Ice Cream Challenge... part two.
From a Distance - vanilla and chocolate ice cream with select lyrics from the Bette Midler song of the same name to close out this year's PSP & CBD Ice Cream Challenge. From a distance, the world looks blue and green And the snow-capped mountains white From a distance, there is harmony And it echoes
