finally had a telephone appointment yesterday with endocrinology……. However, my suspicions were raised when he started discussing my statins ?? ….. I’m not on statins as I don’t have raised cholesterol 🙄 I asked him if I was speaking to endocrinology and he confirmed I was after he apologised for looking at wrong notes. Anyway, as I expected. He told me I was over medicated on 162.5mg of Levo …… and suggested me cutting down to 125mg to bring my readings within levels. Bearing in mind that I wasn’t asked to have a blood test prior to this appointment…… he told me that he was going on previous test in February 23…… then read out readings over the last 10 years as a comparison. He told me that my last blood test was a full thyroid function test, I’m going to ask for these results. I asked about taking Lio to help bring my readings within limits, he told me that it’s not effective !?! He then made comment about a bone density scan I had in December and told me that I am pre osteoporosis….. however I did look at the results with the radiologist who said I was ok just 50p size patch in my hip. Then he went on about strokes and heart attacks etc. more if a scare mongering exercise. I was adamant that I’m not reducing my meds. My choices were: to ignore their advice and be left alone or for me to have another blood test and him write to GO and go with recommendations (ie cut down) ……. I was so annoyed with him and told him that this was a difficult decision and asked that we review again in future which I think he’s agreed. I feel so anxious and not sure if I should go back and speak to GP.

Hello,You are not alone.
I had a similar interaction with an endo who told me all my symptoms were due to Vitamin D!!!
He wouldn't listen.
After that I asked to be transferred to a different endo. They did it for me and my new one currently, is so much better.
Good luck.
