Has anyone experienced hyper magnesium with hypothyroidism? Im curious because my mag levels (although not reliable) is on the higher side and Im just wondering about this. Link below that I was reading.

Curious about Hyper-magnesium and hypothyroidism
I've had my RBC magnesium checked a few times and both times it's been elevated. I do take ~400mg of elemental magnesium daily.
Having high magnesium levels is called hypermagnesemia. I don't know if it is particularly associated with hypothyroidism.

The article I've linked is annoying (for me) because it uses a unit of measurement that I don't understand and that I've never seen in use in the UK. I've had my magnesium measured twice and it was measured in mmol/L both times, not mEq/L as in the article.
Magnesium testing is unreliable.
99% of the magnesium in the body is found in bone, muscle and non-muscular soft tissue. The remaining 1% is found in the blood. When the blood runs low in magnesium the body will steal it from the other places it can be found. So, magnesium level in a blood test can look good or even high while the rest of the body may be deprived of magnesium.
Excess magnesium is excreted by the kidneys as long as the kidneys are functional, and also in the faeces.
This article entitled Magnesium Basics is well worth the effort of reading, and it has a section on hypermagnesemia.
