Metropolo
I take 25 mg of Metropolo twice a day! I get short of breath when I do house work , my heart rate is in the 90's because I am in AFIB all the time! They are trying to control my blood pressure and pulse with this medication ! Does other people have this problem?

Woke up in Afib
I thought the cardio version last episode would have been the end to this. But nope , like clockwork I was due. I have been journaling and keep track of how I feel. I usually see a dip in HR a few days to a week before ba episode. I seem to have them every 6/8 weeks with one exception in last year of

Extreme insomnia
I've had GAD since I was in graduate school back in 1997. It seems to be triggered by insomnia and escalates from there. I have been stable for most of my life on Paxil but over the last year the anxiety seemed better so I tapered down to 10mg. I started having some depression symptoms over the last

Symptoms….I’m confused
Hi, grateful if people can throw some light please? My bloods (previously posted here) point to hypo BUT I don’t have the slow pulse and if anything it races in the mornings before I get out of bed. Also races when I do very little though think that’s because I’m so exhausted! I have a list of symptoms

Acetylcysteine
I have recently been prescribed oral acetylcysteine as a mucolytic. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am unsure how having a greater volume of mucus to cough up will help me, and the drug information leaflet says it should not be used with bronchial asthma as it can cause bronchospasms

Slow heart rate
I have been diagnosed with bradycardia. One electrophysiologist wants me to have a pacemaker and another (for a second opinion) says I don't need one. I function very well during the day, have a good night's sleep and am not fatigued. The slow heart rate started when a holter monitor was put on

Fissure or fistula
For the last few weeks I have been getting stabbing pains up the rear exit. Like I sat on a needle!! I used to suffer a lot with piles but not bled for about a year now. But today after large bm I bled! What concerns me is I should be having a camera look at my bladder on Saturday under local anaesthetic

Glasgow EP?
Sadly, my lovely English EP, Dr Peter Stafford, has retired. My paroxysmal arrhythmias look as if they may be returning after a big, sucessful, ablation three years ago- this time in the form of episodes of a very slow heart rate. As I now live in Scotland and was discharged from Glenfield after

past my sell by date part 3
I sort of struck lucky with a new gp who ordered a raft of tests “Sort of” because whereas I couldn’t understand some results I have been booked in for a US urinary tract because neither antibiotics or pessaries helped. Despite already taking amlodipine for bp my latest reading is 150/75. An ECG was

Premature cardiac risk
“20” percent of humans have elevated lipoprotein (a), putting them at risk for heart attack, stroke, and aortic stenosis. Unfortunately, only 3/10 of a percent (.3 percent ) of U.S. primary care physicians ever test their patients, unlike physicians in the EU and Canada. The link below will offer more

Thank you everyone for your replies. After my visit to A and E on Sunday the doctor told me to take an additional 1.25mg of bisoprolol for 3 days so now taking 2.50mg per day. I think I was a little naive but trusted the hospital to reduce to 1.25 after my cardioversion he said my heart rate was
