bone scan not dexa

I need to have bone scan due to on going back pain. Do o need to up prednisone for this as I will be having injection of radioactive material. Thanks janet

I would contact the department where you will be going and find out what you need to do or not d.o. Are you having an MRI or a CT scan? Think you can have dye (?) with both.

Let us know what you are supposed to do in advance of the scan. Prednisone is supposed to not be good for bones but if you have no choice for surviving the pain in your back - do the doctors want you to take the prednisone on a schedule and before the scan ?

you do not - it is a quick an easy scan and causes no discomfort. Good luck.
