As I mentioned in an earlier post after spending 30 days for each reduction tapering from 15mg-12.5mg -10mg, my nurse practitioner put me on a taper of 1 mg every two weeks. This week I began the 1mg dose and over the tapering period I have not had any flares so far. I am happy to be finishing off the prednisone. 😊I can't say how much this site has meant to me. Thank you to the PRO 's and for the resources available here.
Thank you for all that you do!!

Fingers crossed but beware - 1mg can be plenty to keep the inflammation due to a very low level of disease activity under wraps, You can say it has gone when you've been off pred for 6 months without any sign of PMR. And hopefully you will get there.
Some people are so excited about zero that they forget - and get into a proper flare instead of taking action at a stage where just 1 or 2 mg is enough, Don't want that happening! All the best
When I started pred my doctor told me that some of her patients kept a supply of 1 mg on hand just in case they found they needed it. Don;t hesitate to take a 1 mg dose if you find after a few weeks that you are getting some niggles. Hopefully that won't happen, but better safe than sorry.
Still, you've done very well with the taper so looking good! Best wishes.
