Told to discontinue Casodex (Bicalutamide)
My dad was put on Casodex for 3 months immediately post-chemo. So he was on Lupride + Casodex. Today we got his 3-monthly blood work reviewed, the MO has instructed to stop Casodex and continue with only Lupride and get back again after 3 months with blood reports. Jan (after chemo): PSA: 0.04, ALP

WELL ITS ON NOW
Received call from oncologist for first Lupron shot next Tuesday and measurement for radiation. I took first Casodex last night before watching end of Homeland. I fell for Claire Dane. With Lupron this feeling will undoubtedly pass.

Casodex and Lupron
I had surgery in 2014, SRT in 2018, an axium scan last week that show uptake of PC in left nodes. My oncologist says he can microwave it. I will take casodex and lupron. Do I start taking casodex before lupron injection.

Does Casodex Cause Testosterone Spike?
Does anyone know if Casodex can cause an initial spike in testosterone levels? I had been on Casodex for almost 2 weeks in preparation for my ADT treatment. In that time, my testosterone level nearly doubled from 404 to 760 (my PSA dropped from. 0.022 to 0.009). I thought one purpose of the Casodex

Alkaline phos rising yet symptoms lessing?
My husband began Zolodex close to 2 weeks ago. He's a 13 year Stage IV survivor. His alk phos is increasing and yet after he did the initial Casodex, got the injection of Zolodex, his symptoms are lessening greatly. He has reduced pain meds, sometimes even to the point where an Advil and Tylenol will

Low dose cabazitazel for bone marrow infiltration
Hubby has advanced stage 4 PC. Casodex, lupron, taxotere, Zytiga, Xtandi, Keytruda, cabazitazel + carboplatin, xofigo (1 dose). Adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine. PC now in his bone marrow. Trying low dose cabazitazel. Anyone done the same? He so tired.

Doubling Flare after 7 days of Casodex and 1 day of Zolodex
Questions: My husband diagnosed Stage IV 13 years ago. He's not been on Casodex or Zolodex since 2014. We hadn't taken a PSA for about 6 weeks. His psa went from 55 to 64 in that time. It was the alk phos that scared us, it shot up to 740, I honestly can't remember the number.. it was at another blood

Abiraterone Failure
I began Abiraterone on Jan 11,2020...my last three PSA readings are .76 12/11/20), 2.1 (2/25/20), 3.9 (3/27/20)...so I have failed abiraterone...(have ruled out BRCA2+ mutation...also I believe we have ruled out AR-V7 expression)..my alkaline phosphate remains good at 45...next choice seems to be enzalutamide

Lupron Altarnatives
Can anyone recommend a urologist in eastern US who is currently using Vantas implants with Casodex as an alternative to Lupron? I have been unable to find one anywhere near my location. From other posts, it appears that some community members are using this combo with success. Any advice will be much

Borders and Chemotherapy
I'm up against a unique problem and do not know where to go to get an answer. A quick update on me. 65, initial psa 55, Gleason 9 in 16. No mets visible. Radiation summer of 16. Been on Erleada, Zolodex, Xtandi, Casodex, and Zytiga recently. All failed eventually. Doctor said Docetaxal is all that

experience w/neutropenia?!
hey all- my husband is dealing w/neutropenia. he takes casodex & tamoxifen daily. have any of you experienced this before? hematologist thinks it may be related to the tamoxifen, but isn't sure. worried about him being even more immunocompromised right now.

Salvage Radiation Delay due to COVID 19
RO Mychalczak at Memorial Sloan Kettering Westchester (just outside Manhattan) wants to delay my 8 weeks of salvage radiation to Pelvic Lymph Nodes Prostate Bed due to Pandemic. Suggesting a 3 month shot of Lupron to keep PSA down in the interim My concern is that the Lupron may be keeping the PSA

Stats... devils (or angels) in the details?
I came across an interesting example of why it can be worthwhile to dig into the details that underlie statistic-based conclusions. (And I wasn't really digging that hard, this one fell into my lap.) In considering anti-androgen monotherapy as an initial systemic treatment for my metastatic 3+4=7 PC,

Visiting the hospital amidst COVID 19 scare ?
My dad is due for his 3-monthly Lupron shot on April 3rd. He is currently on Casodex + Lupron. He completed his chemo this January. As if dealing with the idea of advanced Pca wasn’t enough, the COVID-19 is a reminder of the fragility of our lives once again. How is everyone managing visiting the hospital
