axium scan results

There is an FDG avid left common iliac lymph node measuring 0.7 cm to max 8.7. Nodular uptake along scar tissue in the deep left pelvic at level of the left ischio spine. These regions are deeply suspicious of recurrence. Mild activity left external iliac and igunial nodes, may be reactive but follow up is recommended. I will have a bone scan on Monday, first lupron shot on Tuesday and mapping for the big microwave. I am on casodex now. I guess to counteract the flare up. My joints ache a little more now.

In the title, you wrote it was an Axumin scan; but in the body, you wrote it was an FDG scan ???

Well, I got em mixed up. It was a Pet Ct scan. My oncologist kept referring it to an Axium .

So, it was an Axumin PET/CT? It makes a difference. What does your radiologist's report say?

I did not get a written report. We just talked. He just said that he could radiate the areas, the cancerous nodes more, but he would radiate all the pelvic nodes. He said that given my low PSA 1.4, he did not anticipate other areas . He put me on casodex for, I assume, the proverbial flare.
