Visiting the hospital amidst COVID 19 scare ?
My dad is due for his 3-monthly Lupron shot on April 3rd. He is currently on Casodex + Lupron. He completed his chemo this January. As if dealing with the idea of advanced Pca wasn’t enough, the COVID-19 is a reminder of the fragility of our lives once again. How is everyone managing visiting the hospital

Go to MO or not?
Been on Lupron, Casodex, Avodart forever. MO Appt tomorrow here in NJ. No discernible Covid 19 symptoms; T=97.5-98.5F! Do I go or postpone? (84, GS6, T2B in 1997, Pd+XBRT,recurred in 2001. Current psa on hormones: 0.4!; hi bp, triple bypass in '17). They say they will "screen", whatever that means

Basic Question About Casodex
Is Casodex used primarily to avoid PSA flare when starting Lupron? If so how long does it need to be taken? If so would starting ADT with a degaralix injection instead and then transitioning to lupron after a month be equally or more effective?

Imaging at Low PSA
I was on Lupron + Casodex for a year for lymph node metastasis. In November 2019, I started ADT vacation. My last Lupron shot was in September, 2019. In February 2020, my PSA was 0.07 (slightly up from 0.06 in November 2019) and T <20. Today, I learned that my MO wants me to have chest X ray, Abdomen

Abiraterone Withdrawal Syndrome - anyone experience it?
A friend of mine stopped Zytiga and his PSA went down. I'm familiar with bicalutamide withdrawal syndrome: PSA increases after a while taking Casodex but goes down when Casodex is stopped. This is caused by the Androgen Receptor using bicalutamide to become activated, and is well known. I've even

First PSA Three Months After Starting ADT Vacation
Lupron + Casodex treatment for my lymph node metastases (multiple pelvic and abdomen nodes) was started in November 2018 with a PSA of 4.48. Rise in ALP level, PSA continues to fall, what can it mean?
My dad's ALP went down to 81 last month after 6 cycles of chemo. He then moved on to Lupron + Casodex. After 1 month, its now risen from 81 to 121. He also has little pain on and off in his back and thighs from 4 days. He has stopped taking his painkiller since a month and doesn't need them yet.

PSA Up During Docetaxel, Scan indicates progression. Determined, Next step??
Hi all --- (original post gone) -- Determined despite devastation. Looking at "What next." Husband Barry was diagnosed last August with pc, extensive bone mets, no pain (cancer found on Xray after he pulled muscle when kayaking). PSA over 60 when he started Casodex followed by Lupron. It dropped to 4

More questions
Great scans in January, no disease progression or lesions, old lesions healed, psa is stabilized around 3.7. should I consider casodex , feel good, still working part time. Last visit he was waiting for the psa to stabilize. I guess I do not want it to come back, a fear we all have. Other thing should

Stopping Casodex before stopping Lupron
I am on day 30/34 of IMRT Salvage Radiation. I started Bicalutimide just prior to starting Leuprolide Acetate back in November. I have tolerated the ADT treatment fairly well with minimal side effects. A Decipher test was performed midway through this per my request and my Decipher score came back

Undetectable 5 years and 2 months after DX of Metastatic PC w/ a PSA of 209
Hi Battle Brothers and Sisters. I don't post much, but always follow your posts. I just had my labs done today and as usual I was suffering from pre-test PSA anxiety the past few days. I was needless to say delighted and feel very lucky that I am still undetectable. If somebody told me when I was DX'ed

Upcoming appt. with urologist
Hi Warriors, I attend a bi-monthly PCa group of about 18 men; most have no more prostate. I still have mine and will be consulting with a urologist surgeon whom the group trusts. Dr. K's creds do not include oncology but he seems more knowledgeable in all aspects of PCa than some oncs I've dealt with
