The dreaded chest x ray....
Hello everyone, your friendly hypochondriac here :) Just got back from the doctors and the blood tests were fine apart from cholesterol which was up. So the theory of under active thyroid was wrong. They are now sending me for ECG and having a 24 hour Blood pressure monitor. But, the worst of it

Any connection between Hypothyroidism and Heart problems
I have recently been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. At the same time my GP picked up on a heart murmur. After undergoing tests such as ECG, chest x-ray and then an echo it appears I have Bicuspid Stenosis (congenital defect from birth). Actually the stenosis bit is degeneration over the years (61 yrs

Hi Folks, I'm new here, but not new to AF, long story but went in for a 'day surgery' simple procedure over 8 years ago, took a reaction under the GA and ended up with the defrib to get the heart going. In the process the rhythm got messed up and bothered me ever since. I had a pacemaker fitted in 2006

COPD
After having 4 chest infections in a year, I asked my doctor if Stiglagliptin may be an underlying factor. After some research she agreed and took me off them She also sent me for a chest x-ray which came back clear, but with (in small print) possible early stages of COPD. This really shocked me

G.P. changed husbands B12 injection to tablets
Hi My husband has all the symptoms of B12 deficiency and 7 weeks ago had it tested. Level was 222 range 180 - 1100. G.P said he was depressed but we disagreed and eventually she said he could have the injections. He had the first one and initially felt worse (which I believe can happen) but over the

Hi, I'm Ian. I'm new to anxiety support. I found this site while I was on quit support. I'm four months giving up smoking. During my quit I was digasoned with GAD. I have always had some anxiety, fear of heights, but developed health anxiety because of a cough that wouldn't go away (I also coughed

8 weeks of coughing
I have been non stop coughing since beg Dec. Been on 3 lots of sterroids and antibiotics. I have pain above my left breast I presume if a pulled muscle from the coughing. Had a chest x-ray yesterday but really fed up now. Went back to work first time today since the break-up of Christmas and came home

My Quit September 2013
My Quit September 2013 My name is Ian. I have been smoking since I was around 17 years old. I’m now 39 which makes it around 22 years I’ve smoked. I have smoked many things in those 22 years, but it was mainly tobacco, around 20-30 roll-ups per day. I’ve had always enjoyed smoking. I actually liked

Strange symptoms over the years - asthma?
Hello forum, this is my first post and I really really need your insight. Before I begin - I'm not here for diagnosis since I was already diagnosed a long time ago, I would just like to see if anyone else felt the same to confirm/deny some of my fears. I most certainly will see a doctor about this as

GP and consultant not in agreement
Hi everyone, not been here for a while going through a lot of pain and not getting very far with GP and consultant. RA nurse sent fax to GP suggesting I get a steroid injection for painful and swollen hands, GP not happy to do this because of my diabetes, so told to double naproxen from 250mg twice

Seen Consultant
Since I was diagnosed with COPD in July this year, I have been asking my Nurse and GP to be referred to Consultant. Several times I asked them and they kept saying that they only refer when they can no longer manage disease. I had spirometry in July with the Nurse at GP's and it came up 73%. Inhalers

I've been doctors loads of times had clear chest x ray etc and currently doing CBT for anxiety. I'm really having a rough time quiting.
